How do you get inspired to write?

Lily Baines Inspiration usually just hits me when I'm in a certain place like the book I am currently writing, or when I see something or hear a conversation. It's like a whole scene or story or a character just writes itself in my head and I feel the urge to sit down and write it. From there it usually takes its own direction and becomes something else.
