Josh Sundquist Hi Brittany -- I just like reading and writing books. And memoir was a natural place for me to start because I talk about myself for a living as a motivational speaker. But in a deeper sense, in both JDF and WSHOS I was essentially writing about emotionally painful experiences. And I think there's a sense in which if you can write about such an experience and other people can find meaning in that writing, the experience itself can become a little less painful and a little more meaningful because it has served a purpose for other people (that is, readers)
Josh Sundquist So we are in final production of my novel, which will come out in 2017. Fiction was much harder than I expected. With non-fiction (that is my two memoirs) you just sort of think about what happened and then choose the most interesting things and write them. There's a very finite pool of possibilities.

But with fiction literally ANYTHING can happen. So you are trying to choose the most interesting/insightful set of events out of a set of infinite events. Which is both more challenging and intimidating creatively.

(Note: I'm not complaining, I like that it is creatively challenging, that is the whole point of writing for me)
Josh Sundquist Ha! I reference to JDF I think? Yes and no. Yes I still will become obsessed with gaining knowledge and expertise on a subject I have, particularly health problems. No in that now we have wikipedia. So I usually start there. And then read all the books.
Josh Sundquist Hey I've answered both these questions a bunch of times, please check out the other answers :)
Josh Sundquist Actually everyone was really cool about it when I told them. Granted, that was before they read it. So we'll see in the coming weeks if I get any angry messages :)
Josh Sundquist I think college is sort of the price of admission for most jobs. If you're not sure about it, start at a community college, live at home, save the money. You can always transfer to a 4 year school later.
Josh Sundquist 3-4, not including those I swallow from the air while riding my bike
Josh Sundquist It started out as a place to rant about my bad dates...which of course turned into a book called WE SHOULD HANG OUT SOMETIME
Josh Sundquist Yes it was! And it was a great honor!
Josh Sundquist I hope I can go there someday. You know any colleges or businesses that need a motivational speaker?
Josh Sundquist Yes! At the Paralympics I had a crush on girl who was from there :)
Josh Sundquist Ah can't pick just one. I've added many of my favs to my "Read" shelf here on Goodreads
Josh Sundquist Right now I'm most enjoying soccer, but cucumber racing is a close second
