Rules of Engagement is a 7-book inspirational, sweet, military romance series. I began working on the storyline and characters over thirty years ago when I lived in Panama. God just never let me let it go.
I learned you should write about what you know. I know Jesus. I know the military - Navy Brat, Army wife. I know sweet romance with my sweetie husband, Seth.
So, the story blossomed, even more, when Susan Baganz and I decided to become writing partners and get the stories written and published. We think you'll enjoy the characters and settings.

Different things. Sometimes it's a person walking nearby that has some quirky trait, conversations, or the weather. Rainy, overcast days are my best days to write. Also, I get inspired every time I go to the mountains or the beach. Both are great places to let your imagination take you to far away places.

I'm pretty much an open book (pun intended). Maybe, a good mystery would be how we were given a baby six short weeks after landing in Panama.

The best thing?
Being able to do what comes naturally for me. Growing up I thought everyone could write easily. It wasn't until after I was married that I discovered it was a gift, skill, and talent given by God.
I love writing because it gives voice to emotions and helps me to process.
Writing touches a creative side in you and since I can't draw, paint, sing, or other creative talents - I write!

I learned from Jerry Jenkins it isn't really real. Think about it, a plumber doesn't get plumber block or a nail tech doesn't get to have nailblock.
You just sit and write. Sometime it comes super easy and other times - not so much.
I love sitting at my desk with the sunlight pouring through the windows and losing myself in writing.

Hmmm.. That is hard to answer. I've lived in four continents and 50 homes. I've never lived on a lake with an amazing house that has a wrap-around screened-in porch - lots of bugs around lakes. Of course, it would have to have its own boat ramp.
I'd be the owner of a retreat - but someone else would do the hard day to day work. As for me, I would spend my time getting to know the guests.
