Hi, Crystal.
Thanks for reaching out! I was away from my email for vacation. Upon receiving your message yesterday, I sent the Amazon gift card and signed copies of DECEPTION AT THE ALTAR, STILL THE GREEK'S WIFE, and a bonus book yet to be released, PREGNANT BEHIND THE VEIL, by way of apology for the delay. I also just sent you an email with the order confirmation number for your Piper & Ivy shirt.
I hope you enjoy the books and have a wonderful rest of your summer!

Frankenstein's House! Around the corner from my childhood home was a plot of land that backed up to a prairie. In the woods was the remains of a stone basement from a house that had burned down long ago. I loved crawling around the stones and pretending like there was treasure, or something more sinister depending on my mood, buried underneath the dirt. I never dug to find out...perhaps in a future story a child decides to dig and uncovers something dastardly.

"Please," she begged softly, "please go back."
"No, Emmy, we don't have time for the bookstore today."

"The Night Circus" by Erin Morgenstern is a top contender. I would run straight to the circus and spend hours walking through.
Also...the Berenstein Bears when they go trick-or-treating. It's one of my favorite childhood books, and their whole neighborhood was decked out for Halloween. One day I will achieve the same level of spooky awesomeness on my own front porch!

Lots of Harlequin Presents titles. I've been very slowly working my way through "The House on Vesper Sands." It's spooky and mysterious and I love it. I'm also rereading "Evil Under the Sun" by Agatha Christie. She's my go-to mystery author, and I reread a couple of her titles every year.

Tell my husband, Mr. Grayson, I'm struggling and have him give me a very frank pep talk. He's a firefighter, blunt but supportive, and usually motivates me to sit down and crank out pages.
I've also found that setting a timer for 15 minutes and a word goal is really good for helping me gets word on paper. I tell other writers it doesn't have to be perfect on the first draft, that the story will go through multiple revisions, but it's so much easier to say than do!

Torn between writing characters into existence and bringing a scene to life. I love doing research and finding little bits of trivia or a random, little-known tourist site I can share in a book.

1) Don't give up! Spoken a lot, but it's so true. Thirteen years passed between my first rejection and my first contract.
2) Find a critique group or partner who will give you constructive feedback and not hold back on what can be improved. I grew leaps and bounds because of the amazing writers who didn't hesitate to point out what I could work on.

The third book in the Infamous Cabrera Brothers trilogy, as well as gearing up for a duet featuring a young woman catapulted into the world of royals when she finds out she's actually a princess.

Usually by reading. I also have a designated writing desk, as well as a favorite coffee shop. I'm unfortunately very governed by my setting. I envy writers who can write whenever and wherever!

I'm working on the third book in the Infamous Cabrera Brothers trilogy. I found a picture of Positano, Italy on Pinterest and, after researching the town, decided to set my final book there. My editor (the amazing Charlotte with Harlequin Presents) suggested a fun, sexy meet-cute beginning in Rome, and after watching "Roman Holiday" multiple times, I incorporated a lot of the sites from the movie into the book.
