Everyone has a story in them - likely two or three :) Life is so complicated, interesting, tragic and inspiring. There are a million things to write about. I have a dozen books in my head. If you can think of someone who is brilliant, or evil, then you have the basis for a book. The best writers are day dreamers :)

That's an easy one! You can write about anything that you want --and you can be as creative as you want. Then, you can go and change anything that you want. Essentially, you are a painter but using words to paint. I can't think of anything where you can be more creative. As the French would say, "libre comme un oiseau." You are free as a bird when writing.

I am no expert, lol. However, my best advice is to be patient with your first novel. Write it, edit and then let it sit for three weeks. Then edit again. Do that a few times. Then, get it professionally edited. There is simply no substitute. No matter how skillful you are, professional editors will catch the mistakes that your own mind refuses to see.

Evolution's Magnum Opus: Innocence on Trial is an intense novel. In elementary school, a teacher invited me and several classmates to his cabin. Unfortunately, sexual assaults occurred at the cabin. I never talked about it, until now, and I incorporated many of those memories into my novel. I am a lawyer and have always been fascinated with the concept of reasonable doubt in the criminal law context. That issue plays a significant role in the book.

I am about halfway through my second novel, which I have titled, The Perfect Season. It combines my love for the great game of baseball with social commentary on racism. A young boy, who happens to be a genius and fanatical baseball fan, navigates the tragic loss of his mother with the assistance of the game of baseball and a new and unexpected friend, who made her way from Cameroon.

I write for pleasure. It is a creative outlet that I am passionate about. The way I view it, if I have writer's block, I am not ready to write. When I am away from the keyboard, I love thinking about my book; what direction I could bring a character or the plot. When I come up with something, I get right to the keyboard and start hitting the keys. Putting no pressure on yourself - no timeline - is the best way, in my opinion, to deal with writer's block.
