Tessa Afshar I couldn't possibly pick a favorite. I can't even pick a favorite ice cream flavor. 😂
Tessa Afshar If I knew the answer to that, I would get rich. :)
Tessa Afshar These days I have a dedicated writing room with plenty of gorgeous sunlight. Don't tell anyone, but right now I am writing on the dining room table. Again.
Tessa Afshar Cool question. Hamlet has some of the most quotable moments in literature. We still use some of Will's lines from that play in everyday speech over four hundred years after it was written. The Taming of the Shrew has several timeless insults, which has its own merit. Then there is Twelfth Night, which forces us to see how ludicrously misguided male female relationships can sometimes become. Ultimately, I would say pick one that fits your personality. I would be happy if I never came near Romeo and Juliet again. But it might be just the right play for you.
Tessa Afshar Hi Barb. Thanks for your gracious words. In answer to your question, I don't have anything to do with the covers. If I am violently opposed to one, the publishing house staff try to accommodate me. But the publisher chooses the covers. And yes. Models are used for the covers.
Tessa Afshar I get to do what I love, and do it in my pajamas! In one day, I might visit a new country, talk to fascinating historical figures, kill a bad guy, torture a good guy, and I don't even get arrested. What could be better? More seriously, I love hearing from the fans. They write me their stories, sometimes, stories that break my heart and make me weep. It is utterly humbling to be invited into someone's life like that.
Tessa Afshar I am currently working on the story of Lydia, the seller of purple goods who is mentioned in the book of Acts. She is an incredible character. An established merchant, wealthy, resilient, decisive, and successful in a world dominated by men, she turns her home into the first church to be established in Europe.
Tessa Afshar For me, the best way is reading a great book. Right now, I am half way through The Boys In the Boat. I don't know what I will do with myself when I finish. This book inspires me every day! I don't stick to one genre, but tend to read anything that will feed my soul, amuse, entertain, or inspire me.
Tessa Afshar You would be hard-pressed to find someone who was considered to have a lower social standing than the woman who touched the hem of Jesus' garment. She was female, poor, and suffered from a bleeding disease that rendered her unclean. And yet Jesus called this woman "daughter". She was the only woman we know of that he addressed in such a tender way. This presented a wonderful mystery to me. Why would he call her that? And was there anything for the rest of us in that precious exchange?
