Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Tessa Afshar You would be hard-pressed to find someone who was considered to have a lower social standing than the woman who touched the hem of Jesus' garment. She was female, poor, and suffered from a bleeding disease that rendered her unclean. And yet Jesus called this woman "daughter". She was the only woman we know of that he addressed in such a tender way. This presented a wonderful mystery to me. Why would he call her that? And was there anything for the rest of us in that precious exchange?
