After leaving a well-paid job, I want to pull my weight, financially. My two publishers (of 5 books) closed their doors. Indie publishing can be brutal, but I enjoy making my own book covers. So, finishing the book is a goal so I can go use my art degree to create beauty!

As of December 8, 2014 I am writing the third installment in my Kilted Athletes Through Time series, My Hunted Highlander. I will also release two thrillers that follow on the heels of this month's release, Shiver. Three books for 2015 is my goal!

I am a prolific writer. In 2015 and 2016, I released an audio book of My Honorable Highlander, My Hunted Highlander, a full-length Scottish time travel romance, and IGNITE: a White Mountains Thriller. I was invited to add one of my time travels to Medieval Redemption and When Love Conquers Time boxed sets. SPARK, Bk#1, Clan of dragons was released August 4 2016 and SMOKE, the 2nd book in my paranormal dragon-shifter series will release on October 7 2016. SMOLDER, book #3 is almost finished.

Join a writing group. It is easier when there are people who understand this profession that you can talk to. Romance Writers of America has local chapters, but have a high price tag. I joined a local 'freelancers' group for peanuts. I look forward to our monthly meetings.

I am my own boss! I 'retired' from state service as a 9-1-1 operator, moved with hubby to another state to be closer to family, and work from home. A bit lonely when he's not home, but I would not trade this new lifestyle for anything!

I go read a good book. Books are my 'reward' and just getting my head filled with other characters in another genre helps. My 'go-to' genre is Regency historicals. I do not write those, so they only inspire me to get back to writing.

I wrote a partial story about a dog named Shelby back in junior high, but I did not actually start to write toward publication until the weekend my youngest son returned from a tour in Iraq. This was October 2006. As we traveled from NH to VT to see his brother, I sat in the back seat writing a story in a notebook.
