Thanks Debra!
I think that's a function of the narrator. The only POV belongs to Leia, and she stays focused on the people she loves most and the drama that is swirlign around them.

Yes -- all my books are available in paper form and as ebooks and audiobooks. :)

I think it comes from theatre. From pretend. None of my characters are ME, none are literally based on anyone I know or my history---but they are all mine.

(view spoiler)[Hi,
I just finished reading Almost Sisters, I loved the ending I would love to see a book of after this book and how digsby grows up in Alabama!!! I listened to this book and I made excuses to drive places just to listen to it! Is that something you would consider doing? (hide spoiler)]

I always say, "No, I doubt I will write a sequel to any of my books." I feel like if you get alllll the way through one of my plots and no one has shot you or drowned you or beaten you to death with a tequila bottle and you have landed in a breath of grace and hope----I SHOULD LEAVE YOU ALONE! That said, sometimes I end up writing related books. gods in Alabama and Backseat Saints crossover each other. My Own Miraculous leads to Someone Else's Love Story, which connects to The Opposite of Everyone. So...it couldhappen.

Yes! Thank you for noticing! :)
It is also the story of Rachel of Leah from Genesis.

I almost always think that characters who manage to get to the end of one of my books and emerge in a safe, good place kinda deserve to stay there. :) I want them where they are, I think. The deserve happiness.

The Opposite of Everyone was originally titles Nobody's Nothing.

Yes -- William is off screen, but she talks about him and their history.

Spring I think? Maybe summer. Publishing schedules change often!

(view spoiler)[I have just finished Mother, May i - I love the way you write - i love that you read your books. But i am wondering about the comments about 1992 and the internet. It sounded like you were setting us up for Spence or Trey or Adam to have put the pictures on line. There was no such thing as viral in the beginning. of course, but i almost felt like you were leaning that way. Did i read more into that than you intended? (hide spoiler)]
Joshilyn Jackson
I was more explaining WHY the pictures never got onto the internet. In 1992, it was not the same.

Thank you so much! WITH MY LITTLE EYE will be out next spring or maybe early summer, 2022.

THANK YOU! It was part research, part upbringing, part affinity.
My favorite comic books are the DOOM PATROLs when it was being run by by Grant Morrison and Richard Case. Which, just saying that, I felt myself gain 50 nerd points. :D
I am not a huge comic geek, though. I am more a BUFFY/Dr. Who style nerd. I married a man who keeps his whole collection in sleeves, though, and my beloved older brother is, like Leia, Geek-famous. He is a sculptor who makes the greens for many famous gaming figurines.

Thanks, Sandra! What a lovely thing to tell me. I am so glad you are enjoying my work.
My mother's people were all Baptists, but I was raised Church of Christ, which is nondenominational, evangelical, and fundamentalist. I have also done multiple retreats at a nearby monastery---even one silent retreat, which my husband can attest is a small-form miracle.
As we moved, I have joined Episcopalian, Methodist, and Presbyterian churches---mainline protestant-ism is my comfort zone. Since we moved to Decatur, I have been a member of FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF DECATUR, a progressive evangelical community that is verydear to me.
I am often critical of the church, but this is because I am part of it and love it and want it to be the best thing it can be. If you are interested, I recently had a long conversation about faith and fiction on LARB with another Southern author I admire very much: Susan Rebecca White. You can find that here:

Yes! When my dad retired from the army, we moved to Pensacola. I graduated from high school there. My husband grew up there as well, less than 2 miles away from me. His mom still lives there, and every summer we go back. He and I have gone diving at many of the spots Amy describes.

Hi Sandy -- I'm flattered by the question. An independent bookstore called THE ALABAMA BOOKSMITH has signed first editions of many of my books, hardback. https://www.alabamabooksmith.com/ Near me there is a store called EAGLE EYE BOOKS. If you call them, they will ask me to come in and sign for you, any edition you like, and in that case I can personalize the book, as well. https://eagleeyebooks.com

I am working on it right now---It is called NEVER HAVE I EVER, and I expect it will be done in June. :) Of course, then it will be a year before it comes out. Look for it Summer 2019.
