(view spoiler)[I've loved how to be a movie star! At the end of the book it is said that certain characters are going to get married. I wanted to know if you have written this wedding as an extra and where I could buy it?
Thank you.

Hi! Thanks so much for reading Movie Star! I'm so pleased to hear you enjoyed it. Though I told myself I'd never write a sequel to Normal Person, I'm glad I gave in, because I enjoyed every second I spent in Abby, Oregon with my friends.
That being said, I don't think there will be anymore stories in that series. I'm happy with how it ended. I try and do something new with each book I write, and I've already written a wedding novella in another series I have, so I think it's best to just let the story rest as is. But just know that Gus and Casey, Josey and Q-Bert will live happily ever after. Thank you!

October 13! The date is set, the preorders are up, and come hell or high water, Carter's story will finally, finally be told. Five more months!

Thank you, Michael! I'm so pleased to hear you've enjoyed Cerulean, and put it with such esteemed company. Though I wish the world was in a much different place than it currently is, I think this book came out at the right time, to give people a bit of escapism fueled by a message of hope and kindness. I think that's something we could all use right now. Thanks for reading! tj

No, probably not. Producing a hardcover is so, so expensive, and honestly, I don't know if I can financially take the risk, especially with so many things currently up in the air re: the state of the world. The publishing industry (like most industries) has been hit really hard, and right now, it's just not financially viable. Thank you for the question, Denise! tj

Thank you, John! I don't think a full-fledged sequel is in the cards, not unless I come up with an idea to rival the first. I like how contained the story is, and while the ending shows change is coming, to me, it's realistic that it can't happen right away. I worry about diluting the message of the first book. That being said, I do have a couple of idea for some short stories, so who knows what could happen? Thanks, tj

Thanks for reading! I'm so pleased to hear you enjoyed Wolfsong. And I think if it were ever to be adapted, it would need to be in television. The entire series in six seasons, ten episodes a season. (I might have thought about this a lot.) Nothing in the works, but who knows what could happen in the future? tj
T.J. Klune
Hi, Robbin! Thanks for the question. At this point, I don't have plans to continue Cerulean. Granted, we never know what might happen in the future (especially as I've notoriously said no to writing sequels to books, only years later do just that), but I think the story ends where it should. It's filled with hope for the future, and though the shape of that hope is still mostly an outline, it's there all the same. If I ever did want to write a sequel, the idea would have to be something special, as I don't want to run the risk of diluting what came before. Thank you so much for reading!

At this point, it's only a standalone. That's one thing I wanted to make sure when I signed this specific contract with Tor, that the three "adult" books I'd give them would all be one-offs.
That being said, I remember quite distinctly saying for years I'd never write a sequel to Normal Person, and we all know how that turned out. As of right now, a tentative no because I like the story as it is. Thank you for reading!

Hi! It is, but only through Amazon. Their printing service is easy to understand, and made sense for me when I was trying to get my books all back out for sale. Link below, thanks!

lol, no one should be asking me to dance at all. I may be queer, but I dance like that one Dad who thinks he's got moves, but is in actuality a little drunk and trying to do the worm.
Books to movies are a weird animal. Even if a production company buys the rights to a book, there is no guarantee that it ever gets made. In fact, it probably won't. Rights can be held for *years* without any forward momentum. Take Stephen King, for example (obviously not comparing myself to him): while we're seeing more of his work being filmed for TV/Movies, many of his books have been optioned but never made. (I would *kill* for an adaptation of The Talisman, a book he wrote with Peter Straub.)
That being said, if any of my books are going to be adapted, it'll most likely be my newer works coming out this year. We have a film agent getting ready to shop out the books, and so fingers crossed! Weirder things have happened!

Hi! Thanks for reading. The How to Be books, particularly Normal Person, are among my faves, and I could easily spend years and years and books and books writing about Gustavo Tiberius and everyone in Abby, Oregon.
Which is why I'm not going to. I think it'll just stay as two books. I've told the story I want to tell, any trying to do anymore would lessen the impact (at least to me) of those two books. Hell, Movie Star wasn't even supposed to exist. Gus will always be my favorite character I've written, and I don't want to dilute his character with more books centered on or around him. I hope that makes sense! tj

Hi! Twin Peaks is one of my fave shows, and now that I think about it, is probably where I got Big Eddie from (at least in name). As much as I love him, I think he's done. The fact that he even appeared in a second book was as much a surprise to me as it was to my readers, but it felt right to include him in The Bones Beneath My Skin. He's in a good place, now. Thank you! tj

Thanks! Kirt will be continuing the series, and it'll be released the same day as the book itself, Aug 18th.

Hi. No, the problems have not been straightened out. Hundreds of authors, editors, cover artists, translators are still owed an untold amount of money. I have received the rights back to my books and republished them, but I'm still owed tens of thousands of dollars from Dreamspinner, and there is no relief in sight.
What people need to understand (and this isn't me admonishing you--always ask questions, it's how you'll know!) is how creatively stifling all of this has been. It's hard to want to write when a publisher has screwed you over so bad. It really kills an author's drive.
That being said, I have the backing of a great new publisher in Tor, and I'm so excited about what the future will bring. So much so that last week, I started writing Verania book five! I'm a little rusty, but over the last week, I've written about 25K words of Justin's story. I am taking it one day at a time, so I won't make any promises, but I can say that I've at least started! We'll see how it goes. Thank you! tj

One day, hopefully! I know BOATK and Wolfsong are in Spanish, and the rest of the Green Creek series will follow, but unfortunately, most Spanish language publishers aren't really interested in LGBTQ fiction, which honestly sucks. The demand is there, but I've had more trouble with getting Spanish language publishers interested than any other language, and that's true for many queer books. I don't know why!

Hey! They do not. Any audios already out (except for Heartsong and Why We Fight) are with Dreamspinner, and all the profits go to them before I ever see a cent. Dreamspinner wants to charge the authors to purchase back the rights for the audios, and since we haven't been paid, we can't afford it. DSP then said they would give us the rights back if they could take the funds out of what they owe us currently, which is a level of bullshit I can't even begin to comprehend. Going forward, however, any new release you see from me (either with Tor/Tor Teen or self-published ie Brothersong) will not involve DSP. Thanks! tj

Hey! All the books I have listed are self-published, given that I had to take the rights back from the former publisher who unfortunately mismanaged the royalties, leaving hundreds of us without payment for our hard work. As such, I had to republish everything. The prices of the books are set they way they are because it's the only way I'll see a meaningful profit. I used Amazon exclusively to republish the paperbacks, and how their payout system works, I get a certain percentage for every book sold. That means that while I priced the ebooks a bit lower than Dreamspinner had them, I had to keep the same price on the paperbacks to ensure I get *something* from the sales. I get that it's expensive for a lot of people, but the pricing is something I researched extensively before setting. I might do sales in the future, (especially when/if the next book in the series comes out), but for now, the pricing will stay as is. I wish I had better news! Thank you for reading my books. tj

Hey, thanks for reading! The answer is in the last book in the At First Sight Series, Why We Fight. If you read that, you'll know who it was. Thanks!

Hi! Thank you so much for reading. This is probably going to be more than you're looking for, but I need to be clear.
I started to write book 5 shortly before the mess with Dreamspinner started. I only made it a few pages before the publisher imploded, and it killed a lot of the drive I had to write the book. It's hard--really, really hard--to continue to be creative when you find out your publisher has been stealing royalties for so long. I'm owed a considerable amount of money, and it's not helping my creativity, especially when it comes with books that were formerly published with Dreamspinner. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things, but it's slow going. I *will* get there eventually, but I won't be making promises about when that will be. I need to get over my anger towards DSP, and I don't see that happening until a) all of us are paid what we're owed, and b) we find out the truth of where our money went. Again, probably more than you asked for, but that's where I'm at right now. I've been getting this question a lot, and wanted to make sure it was clear. Thank you for reading and supporting my work! tj

lol, I know you all would. I'm not going to release anything until probably after the last book comes out this summer. That way, if I fudged a date or two, no one will be yelling at me to fix it in the last book. =D
