I'm happy that you find my writing humorous, hopefully in the intended places. I never really thought much about the how of it; if it makes me snort when I'm writing or thinking about it, then in it goes. But I suppose I like to find the funny side of the absurd, unexpected or just plain unfair in real life to temper the meanness, so it just carries over into the writing.

*nervous chuckle* Thanks for asking. the short answer is I'm, ok. The long answer is here:

Hi Indi,
I'm still working on The Thief Who Went to War. Knock on wood, it will be out before the end of the year. You can watch this page; I'll be putting up a blog post as it gets to a stage where people might ant to think about buying or pre-ordering.
Thanks for the question!

Hi Preom!
I don't have an exact number, but it will likely take around 12 books to get to the end (and there is an end!)

Hi Al!
I'm glad you enjoyed Down In It -- Lhiewyn is is a blast to write :D
Podium has the audio rights to all the Amra Thetys related materials; they decided to release Down In It as a freebie to generate interest in the series. It was taken from The Last God, which is three short stories told from teh point of view of Lhiewyn.
As you probably know, audio books are kinda expensive, and people really prefer longer works if they're gonna spend that kind of money. The Last God is just too short to make it financially viable to record, I suspect. BUT I will definitely be writing more Lhiewyn and Jessep stories, and hopefully when there's enough of them, Podium will be amenable to releasing an audio omnibus.
As for other venues for Down In It, I'm very much open to suggestions, and will happily pass them on to Podium.

Hi Gunner,
Wow, I really suck at checking my goodreads page. I'm very sorry for this late reply.
Currently my plan is to re-publish all four existing books (and the first omnibus) with brand new covers/artwork. That will cost some, so I've been saving up. Looks like I can make it happen maybe in a July/August time frame, assuming Murphy's Law doesn't kick in.

Hi Eda! Sorry for the late reply; I am awful about checking in.
I am still self published, except for the Amra Thetys audio books, which are published by Podium. I've worked with publishers in the past -- Random House in 2003 and Ragnarok Publications in 2016. Neither experience was satisfactory, and as it stands I have no plans to seek out traditional publishing deals in the future.
Writing is rarely a lucrative business, no matter what route you take -- but your odds of making a living via self publishing are somewhat greater than in traditional publishing, and while it requires more work on the author's part, it also grants more control over the entire process.
Best of luck!

I've been toying with the idea of a standalone novel built around That Really Stupid Thing he took part in when he was young, but I'm not allowing myself to do anything about it until Prayers in Steel and The Thief Who Went To War are put to bed. And I've got lots of ideas for more Lhiewyn & Jessep short stories, as well. So... maybe?
This question contains spoilers...
(view spoiler)[I just have to ask, feel free not to answer, but is Amra destined to become the scion of the 8 faced goddess? I mean first Abadon now the knife that parts the night is inside of her. Will she become possessed by the 8 faced goddess?! (hide spoiler)]

I can neither confirm nor deny your theory :)

Hi Nick!
Yep, I'm working through Amra 5 as we speak, alongside other projects. I'm really happy you're enjoying the series! It's looking like book 5 will be a bigger book than the first four; a lot of stuff is going on and beginning to come to a head. There will likely be about 8 more books in the series, and several side stories and novelettes as well :) I'm really hoping to get one from Lhiewyn's point of view done by March; you can follow the progress on this Google Doc if you'd like:

Hi Deacon!
Thanks for your kind words :) To answer your question, at the moment the first three books are available via amazon's create space. However, I would suggest to anyone wanting a physical copy of the books to wait until October (2015) when new editions will be available with better formatting and artwork.

Just write. Don't worry about anything at first except setting down the words. Everything else comes from that. Don't worry if it's all horrible; you are never the best judge of your own work, and if it stinks? So what? Write more. Write better. But write.

It's the next step in the long unwinding story of Amra and her 'fate'. All the books in the series have been in my head in some form or fashion for years, now.

The fourth book in the Amra Thetys series. For the first time, we get the story from the point of view of Holgren, her loyal companion.
