I find your work and your success really really inspiring for a new author who's just discovering the self-publishing options. My question is, are you still self-published, or are you working with a publisher? In your experience, would you recommend chasing after agents and publishers like in the old days or do you think self-publishing is a better option for new authors and/or established ones? Cheers.

Hi Eda! Sorry for the late reply; I am awful about checking in.
I am still self published, except for the Amra Thetys audio books, which are published by Podium. I've worked with publishers in the past -- Random House in 2003 and Ragnarok Publications in 2016. Neither experience was satisfactory, and as it stands I have no plans to seek out traditional publishing deals in the future.
Writing is rarely a lucrative business, no matter what route you take -- but your odds of making a living via self publishing are somewhat greater than in traditional publishing, and while it requires more work on the author's part, it also grants more control over the entire process.
Best of luck!

I noticed that The Thief Who Pulled on Trouble's Braids is no longer available in print, which was disappointing because I'd been hoping to get it soon and I love the cover. Then I found your year-old blog post saying that the publisher wasn't paying and you were taking the rights back, so I guess it's good that I didn't buy their copy. Do you know when the book will be available in print again?

First, let me congratulate you on the great news you shared in your newsletter! How exciting! My question is this: will the Amra Thetys books soon be available in editions other than the e-book format? The reason I ask is that, even though I have highly recommended Amra's adventures, some readers really prefer print editions. Thanks, and all my best for your continued success!
