Hunter Shea So many awesome authors out there now. I love Paul Tremblay and Josh Malerman. JH Moncrieff is killer. Russell James is becoming a fellow monster man. Joe Hill (though like his dad, he can make his books a wee bit smaller).
Hunter Shea Hey Dallas. Sorry I'm just seeing this. Looks like Goodreads never flagged that I had some questions waiting for me. Right now, I'm working on a book about the Melonheads (not the band) set in the mid 90s with lots of grunge and stoners. :)
Hunter Shea I grew up reading Stephen King, Clive Barker and Robert McCammon. They cemented my love of horror and wanting to be a writer. I love the crisp, sharp prose of Elmore Leonard and Robert B Parker. And I'm an unapologetic Hemingway fan. :)
Hunter Shea Definitely the apparition of a boy that's been seen in my house for the past 20 years. We have no idea who he might be. That being said, his presence isn't scary at all. He's just a part of the family.
Hunter Shea Hmmm. If we're talking movies, it's Harry and Sally from When Harry Met Sally. I think I've watched that movie 50 times. My wife and I know every line. It was our go-to movie when we were dating. When it comes to books, it goes in the opposite direction. David and Catherine Bourne in Hemingway's Garden of Eden are my favorite because you know from the outset that it will end in tragedy. The steady disintegration of their young marriage makes for compelling reading.
Hunter Shea I know there were some issues with Amazon getting the trade paperback available. I'll ask about B&N. It should be up there any day now.
Hunter Shea Hi Jason. I not only know about your book, I own it! I wanted to go to your signing at B&N in Yonkers, but I couldn't make it. I had a signing of my own there not long after. I'd love to meet you some day and talk about the things you've seen and done in our neck of the woods. Just name a day and place. I'll bring some books.
Hunter Shea My father was a big fan of westerns, so naturally I grew up a fan. Ever since I started writing horror, I've wanted to combine the 2 genres. Joe Lansdale is a hero of mine and I've been in awe with how seamlessly he's managed to meld them both. I figured it was time I got off my keister and got to work spinning my own yarn of cowboys and terror.
