Eve is, for the time being, done. The books in that world however are not. In fact the very next set of three books coming out next month are set in that world, with a rather different take on things by the end of it, but starting in familiar territory.

There is/are a good amount of people favorite characters in it! Plus some new enemies, along with old themes that I find interesting. Hopefully people will find it different enough to be worth reading? (After this I plan to go sit in a dark room for a month fasting, to help change my mind set, so that I can write fresh takes on things again.)

Simply start working. Don't sit there not writing, and don't second guess what you are putting down. Let the story progress and keep going onward. As human beings were so good with stories that we KNOW what to say next.

Which book? War Day (Proxy book number three) is the conclusion to the current (and first) Infected arc. So that one has been being developed in my head for some time now. The Maria Ward Erotic novel, Countess of Desire... Was actually a book that people first asked for, and then voted on, so I wrote it. The rest came from there. The Eve Benson series comes from my desire to write a Vampire story that's very different than the traditional three we keep seeing. Not too different, but enough to make it worth looking into. I also wanted to put out a completed series all at once, so this Trilogy will be my first stab at doing that.

plan out when I'm going to work, and how much I want to get done, then start. That sound almost silly, but the key to writing really is in actually doing it regularly and to keep going without worrying about small errors. Writers block seems to me to be all about second guessing yourself, which should be done, but not while you're trying to get a story down. That's what editing is for.
So that's the physical part, as for story ideas, well, that just comes to me. Constantly. I probably have around ten thousand good story lines in my head, ready to go. It's particularly easy once I have a character already established, but it happens all the time. Almost everything I see or hear triggers one. (Why, yes, that is as annoying as it might sound...)

This is going to be different for everyone. For me, personally? It's that I get to live in these fantasy worlds very intensely for a time. When I'm writing I see the events nearly as solidly as I do the keyboard and screen. Sometimes more so. That's a bit different though, so it may not be the same for you! Past that, I get to set my own hours, work on what calls to me at the moment (more or less) and really only have to answer to myself, as far as work output goes. It's a lot less stressful than a lot of jobs. No one seriously tries to stab me or threatens my life most days, for instance. I have to like that!

The same advice that has been given through the ages. Write. It sounds stupid, and like it's throw away advice, but doing the work and trying to constantly improve is kind of the key to almost everything in life. Even if you don't think that what you've written is good enough, don't stop. It's a skill, and with effort anyone can get better at it.
Also, never read your reviews, good or bad. Just assume that you need to get better and work from there. Reviews never, ever give helpful information that way. There is truth to them being geared toward the reader, not the author. Just assume you need better editing, a good story and understand that about ten percent of the people will always think you're the devil, no matter what you do.

The Eve Benson series. The goal is to have the books, all three of them, out in January of 2015. Eve (from the Keeley Thomson series) has gotten a bit older, a lot wiser and has been training herself to be ready for life (unlife?) as a Vampire. It pays off, meaning she ends up being part of the action instead of spending the first five years as a Vampire learning how not to kill people. All of this is on a backdrop of the Vampire community slowly coming out, only to have regular humans not believe their real.
*I'm also getting War Day and Countess of Desire ready for publication in less than two weeks. Both will be out on the fifteenth of December. Obviously, if you aren't into high levels of sexual content, don't get Countess of Desire!
