Keep writing. Writer's block doesn't really exist - it's a lack of confidence in your own ability mixed in with falling out of the habit of writing itself. Write anything - a journal entry, a story about a goat, a list of things that irritate you - anything you want. Just write. Better yet, write a scene involving the characters from your book - chances are something in there will give you the surge you need to get going again.

Don't edit as you write. Finish your first draft and then go back and edit. The two elements are contradictory to one another and you'll end up taking much longer on your work if you try and do both at once.

I have always enjoyed writing stories from an early age, but it was reading Neil Gaiman's American Gods twelve years ago that made me realise I wanted to be a writer. The way he weaves the supernatural so delicately into the mundane is superb, and is something I have tried to replicate in my own work.
