Harper Bliss I have no plans for a 6th season. I truly believe the story has been told, but I've come back on decisions like this one before so you never know... ;-) (But I really don't think so.)
Harper Bliss Thanks for your question!

I don't usually reveal my fantasy casting before the book has been out a while, but since Marie Dievart is a French Kissing character I fantasy cast her years ago: https://www.harperbliss.com/2015/03/0...

It does sometimes happen that I don't fantasy cast a particular character and this is the case for Olivia (so no fantasy casting for her.)

Harper Bliss Hi Bridget, thanks so much for your question! I could give you a really complex answer, but the simple truth is that I rely very heavily on 'fantasy casting'. (This may explain why quite a few of my main characters bear a more-than-striking resemblance to Claire Underwood & Stella Gibson...) ;-)
Harper Bliss Hi Cassandra,

Thanks so much for your kind words about my writing. They are very much appreciated! As you may suspect, Harper Bliss is a pen name. My real name is unpronounceable to most...

Question back at you: what do you mean by 'your machine will not let me comment'? Do you mean on my website? Anywhere else? I like to be approachable so I would really appreciate some more details. Thanks!

Harper
Harper Bliss Hi,

Thanks for your question. Not an easy one to answer, to be completely honest. I've written so many books since the first 3 seasons of French Kissing and being a massive pantser, I can't clearly remember all my (many) characters' motivations. But I'll have a go... ;-)
1) I've always seen Margot as someone with very strong morals (stronger than most) so the break-up did contribute.... and helped me make the decision for Margot to give in to Inez. The circumstances definitely played a part!
2) Yes, that's why she had to go.
3) I looked through my notes and don't think I ever fantasy-cast Inez (as her character was too minor -- although her presence did have big consequences!)

I hope this was useful!

Best,
Harper
Harper Bliss Hi Dannie, thanks for your question. The short answer is: of course! The slightly-longer one is that I have a pretty obvious soft spot for May/December romances and I always naturally gravitate towards writing them. So yes, there will definitely be more! (Glad to hear you enjoyed Seasons of Love, Alice is one of my favourite characters ever.)
Best,
Harper
Harper Bliss Hi Lucinda, thank you so much for the question and the kind words about my writing. Answering your question is hard, because Water's Edge is actually one of my tamer books... (Whatever you do, don't read Once in a Lifetime!) ;-)
Release the Stars is probably the book least likely to make you blush, though there are (as always) some hot scenes... Sorry to not be able to give you a better answer but I'm not a fade-to-black kind of writer.

Best,

Harper
Harper Bliss Hi Nikki, thanks for your question. For French Kissing specifically, I do prefer reviews of the boxed set. It's easier for readers to have an overview of the entire season. Additionally, once the entire season has come out (in the boxed set at a discount price) it's only logical for readers to check that product page for reviews because it makes more sense to buy the boxed set.

That being said, any review, on any title, is always greatly appreciated by me!

Hope this answers your question.

Harper Bliss Before I wrote At the Water's Edge, this would have been a difficult question, and I probably would have said: whichever book I wrote last (because that one always tends to be my favorite.) But now it's an easy question for me because of how important the whole process of writing and publishing At the Water's Edge has been for me on a personal level.

Why is it my favorite book, you ask? Because it's my soul on the page. Because it was a very hard book to write but, ultimately, so very rewarding. And, most importantly, because I'll never be the same person I was before I wrote it.

Thanks for your question!
Harper Bliss Hey, Nikki. Thank you for asking this question! I would say that, definitely for shorter works, it's mostly pure imagination. More of me comes through when I write something longer. Take French Kissing: I see some of my own personality traits pop up in certain characters. And my upcoming novel At the Water's Edge will have even more of 'me' in it. As for situations and story lines... Not a lot of that is inspired by my own life. They say that truth can be stranger than fiction, but if I were to base my stories on what happened to me, they would be rather boring. ;-)
I hope this answers your question! (Oh, and thank you for the kind words in your question. I'm taking them as a huge compliment!) ;-)
