I'm sorry, but they're both currently out of print, "Hisses and Wings" probably permanently. It's a rights issue.
Alex Bledsoe
Maybe, as soon as I have time to work on them. I can't decide if I want to revise them, or leave them as "period pieces" set in the 90s and early 2000s when most of them were written.

Hi, Debbie, thanks for your interest! I promise, if I have an idea as good as the ones I've already had, I'll write about it. I just don't want to keep repeating the same ones over and over. I'd rather stop with six strong books than keep going and have the stories get weaker and weaker. We've all read series that kept going long past the point they should have stopped.

Thanks so much, Jodie! I hope you enjoy the last three books as much as the first three. :-) As for advice to young writers, just...write. Writing is like athletics: the more you do it, the better you get. Athletes practice every day to be ready for the Big Game; writers write every day to be ready for the Big Idea. Because the best idea in the world is wasted on a writer who hasn't developed their technical skill. How's that?

Charles de Lint's fictional city of Newford. And I'd just wander around looking for all the ways the magical peeks through the mundane.
Alex Bledsoe
Yes, they're all standalones, so no worries! Hope you enjoy them!
Alex Bledsoe
Thanks, Alisa! Unfortunately you're right; the publisher went out of business, so right now those stories are out of print. I hope to either place them with a new publisher or self-publish them in the near future. Believe me, when they're available again, I'll be announcing it like crazy. :-)

The floor between him and the bathroom was covered with LEGOs. And he was barefoot.
Alex Bledsoe
Maybe. I'd love to do it; I definitely know the story, and the title, and I don't think it would take long to write. But like a lot of things, this boils down to economics: I have to sell enough books to make the publisher want more. Any help--not just buying the books [which I appreciate!] but also leaving reviews and star ratings--toward that end will help show the publisher that I've got a big enough readership to keep me employed.
Truthfully, I love the Zginski novels, too. They hit at the wrong time, at the height of the sparkly-romantic vampire craze, but I'm proud of them, and really would like to do that third one.
Thanks for the question, Slick!

A family member committed suicide, and I've always wondered why.

Thanks so much, Clare. At this point, I plan to keep writing them as long as my publisher wants them; there's no shortage of ideas or directions to go. The next one will come out in 2018.

Thanks for being a fan (and for mentioning Eddie)! To answer your question, Uncle Node was injured in WISP, but not killed. Bliss was worried he might die, but he didn't.

Nick and Nora Charles from "The Thin Man." Why? Because they manage to take all the fun aspects of courtship--flirting, teasing, picking on each other, and that sense of being amazed that this wonderful person has chosen to be with you--and put it into their marriage.
Alex Bledsoe
Well, it mainly comes down to time and interest. Not much can be done about the first until my youngest child gets into school full time, but getting lots of people to read the new story when it comes out will help convince my publisher about the second. Thanks for asking!
Alex Bledsoe
Doin' fine, doin' fine. Thanks for the kind words about DJ as well; hope you enjoy the rest of the series.
Alex Bledsoe
Thanks, Bliss. Great to hear from you! Hope everything is going well for you, too.

My Eddie LaCrosse novels, starting with "The Sword-Edged Blonde," are my take on epic fantasy, crossed with forties detective stories. There are so many people writing straight epic fantasy right now that I'm not sure I could bring anything else new to the table. However, if the right idea ever hits, I'd sure try.

Thanks so much for asking! The next Tufa book, CHAPEL OF EASE, will be out in September of 2016, and I'm currently writing the one after that. Eddie LaCrosse is on hold for the moment, but I hope to return to him one day. I'm working on a couple of Eddie short stories, though, just to keep my hand in a little.
Alex Bledsoe
They will, and fairly soon, I imagine. Watch for it! And thanks for asking. :-)
