M.C. Planck But I did. That's what my book is about. I only came back for the chocolate.
M.C. Planck Perion and Melicent, from James Branch Cabell's "Domnei." They are even more tragic than Jack Vance's Suldrun and Aillas from "Lyonesse," which is really saying something.

As Joseph Campbell noted, true love is inevitably tragic.
M.C. Planck I expect there to be five; "Judgment at Verdant Court" will be out in December, followed by "Verdict on Crimson Fields" next year and "Black Harvest" after that. The story has a rather definitive end, so there won't be any sequels; but I do plan on writing other stories in this world, all of which will necessarily be set before the events of "Sword of the Bright Lady," for reasons which will become obvious. :D
M.C. Planck Dec 6th! I haven't seen the cover yet, but it's supposed to have Cannan on it.
M.C. Planck First, read everything. Once you start writing, don't stop.

Also, join Critters, the internet writing critique group. It's where I got started.
M.C. Planck Uppercuts, mostly. Sometimes a roundhouse kick.
M.C. Planck The same place I get all my ideas. I break into other, better writer's houses and go through their files.

Usually when I see an idea I like I swipe the whole file. But sometimes I just alter a few words and leave the file so that the author doesn't realize I stole his idea. For instance, I was in Stephen King's house a few years ago and saw he had an idea for a story about a small Texas town that gets buried under a freak sandstorm and has to survive until the Army Corps of Engineers can dig them out. He called it "Under the Dunes." I changed a few letters, and that's how we got that stupid TV show.
