Alyssa Cooper My writing time varies A LOT, based on a huge number of factors, such as the amount of work I have at my day job (as a freelancer, this can vary hugely), events planned for that time period, and just general inspiration.

This year I've spent at least half an hour writing every day, because I'm doing the 365 Challenge - but this daily exercise has been based in poetry, so it hasn't gotten me any closer to finishing up my manuscript for my next novel.

So for fiction writing - I write at least once a week, but I don't do a great job of tracking how much I get done. It's usually an hour or two at a time.
Alyssa Cooper I hate how long it's taken me to get this book out there! The first-draft manuscript is nearly complete, and I'm hoping to have it off to my beta readers this month, so that I can have it to the editor before the end of the summer. Best guess - it will be available late autumn or early winter of this year :)
Alyssa Cooper I refuse to believe in the concept of writer's block - even when I don't feel like writing, or I don't know what to writer, I sit down and I force myself to do it. Even if the first twenty minutes are agonizing, and it feels like I'm getting nothing done, eventually things start flowing again.
Alyssa Cooper I'm currently working on Twisted, the sequel to Switch and second installment of The Witches of Armour Hill series. The Witches of Armour Hill is my first series, and Twisted is my first sequel - I'm finding this to be a whole new experience.
Alyssa Cooper My most recent book, The Witches of Armour Hill: Switch, was inspired by a legend from Peterborough, Ontario - my summer sanctuary, as well as the most haunted city in Ontario.

In 1840, a woman from Peterborough was tried for witchcraft. When she was found guilty, the townspeople dragged her to the top of Armour Hill, and they burned her alive. Switch is the story of her descendents - of all the witches they couldn't burn, and the magical lives they've built within the modern world.
