Chris Eells asked Alyssa Cooper:

You mentioned that you sometimes have to force yourself to write. How long do you usually write for on a daily/weekly basis? Also, do you track the time spent writing or the number of pages written?

Alyssa Cooper My writing time varies A LOT, based on a huge number of factors, such as the amount of work I have at my day job (as a freelancer, this can vary hugely), events planned for that time period, and just general inspiration.

This year I've spent at least half an hour writing every day, because I'm doing the 365 Challenge - but this daily exercise has been based in poetry, so it hasn't gotten me any closer to finishing up my manuscript for my next novel.

So for fiction writing - I write at least once a week, but I don't do a great job of tracking how much I get done. It's usually an hour or two at a time.
