Rohit Sharma Hello Shruthi,

First of all apologies for replying so late. My prolonged illness had kept me away from internet and books.

I have started working on my 3rd book. The progress is slow, as it involves a lot of research work. But, hopefully, by next year end, or maybe early 2016, readers will be able to read my next book. 2014 was dedicated to the Hindi Translations of my first 2 books, which I did myself. That took a lot of time, and eventually delayed the start of my next English novel.

Cheers
Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma Write something different. Think of new ideas, and do not write your own Love Story unless it is too good or too different from the books that are flooding Indian markets. Today's young writers are starting with their own love stories, and trust me, they all are same. Challenge yourself and write about something which you don't know. Writing about what you already know is easy.

Moreover, don't just write a book for the sake of writing it. Do some research work. Think of something which is not known to you. Work on your grammar, vocabulary. There is no point in writing a book if you don't know basic rules of Grammar! So, first learn the language. If you think you are the master, remember, there is always a scope for improvement. I too study Vocab and Grammar books in my free time.

Lastly, stay dedicated, focused and patient. Writing requires a lot of patience. Don't write just to increase your book count! Quality matters. Write well :)
Rohit Sharma Luckily, I have not yet faced Writer's Block. I do a lot of research work before writing anything. Moreover, before writing the actual story (or book), I first write a detailed summary of the entire book. Then I break the summary into different chapters, and write short summary for each chapter. This approach I have followed for my first two books, and also following for my 3rd. This way, I always know what I have to write after the current chapter. Obviously, a lot of changes happen as I write the scenes and the chapters, but the research work, and the initial summary and chapter outline helps me a lot in avoiding the Writer's Block.
Rohit Sharma The best thing about being a writer is you get to live so many lives! You live every character, you feel it ... you are happy when they are happy, you are sad when they are sad. If you can feel your characters' emotions, then the possibility of your readers' feeling those emotions will be high. Plus, you get to learn a lot, especially if you are a fiction writer. You get to learn about different place, professions, emotions ... so many things.
Rohit Sharma I have just wrapped up the Hindi Translations of both my books. Side by side, I have also wrapped up the research work needed for my next book. I have started scripting it, but it will take time. Right now, all I can say is ... it is a Romantic Thriller.
Rohit Sharma Mahi Singla, the co-author of my second book 12 HOURS, had approached me with her story ideas. I really loved them, as they were based on different social issues in our country. We then shortlisted various issues, mixed them into fictional stories (different genres), and scripted 12 HOURS.We wanted to target audience of every age group, and thus we chose different genres like Comedy, Romance, Thriller, Drama, Suspense etc.
