So, sometimes music helps me get in the right headspace to write (I've talked about the influence music has on my writing process many times). Sometimes, if I've been working on world building for a particular story, that will get me in the mood to start working on it, too.

I love being able to create and get lost in new worlds, especially in series (and let me tell you, I have a LOT of those coming in the near future...you'll have to stay tuned for more on that). I also enjoy being able to tell the stories of all these different characters because no one else can tell them the way I do.

Just keep writing and know that not everything you write is going to be worth sharing with the world. I have probably close to a dozen novels I've written that will never see the light of day and that is okay because it allowed me to hone my craft. Also, don't be afraid of feedback and constructive criticism. That was a big hurdle for me and I'm still working on it every day.

I am currently working on a young adult paranormal romance trilogy. Think X-Men with teenage romance problems. I'm very excited to release this series next year. Book 1 will be published in Strange Magic, a limited edition multi-author boxed set of urban fantasy and paranormal romance novellas.

The idea for my forthcoming book, Spring's Calling, actually started in law school probably 7 or 8 years ago. The original premise came to me during a Criminal Procedure lecture and from there, it eventually turned into the plot you'll read today.
