He now knew that the bloodcurdling shriek that had awakened him from his slumber had come from the central closet because he heard it again as he inched his way to it. Placing his hand on the doorknob he opened the door and was pulled inside by the shrieking, flaming demon which clutched his body in its talons and sucked all vestiges of life from his body and disappeared into a flaming vortex as what had once been a human being shattered into a thousand shards as it crashed to the floor.

I had an idea years ago about the next step in cinema. How did I put it to a friend?

I've had a lot of ideas over the years for novels. And once I got over my fears about writing and began to practice it daily I've found that it flows more easily than I'd expected.
Always keep a pad and paper. You never when when inspiration will strike. When it does write it down.
In the spring of 2016 on a Mediterranean cruise a plotline suddenly congealed in my mind. I finished the first draft by late 11/16. Completing my fourth draft my wife is in the midst of reading "The Merchant, the Janissary and the Corsair", a 16th Century Historical Novel.

I'm writing a novel about a traveling male nurse. My inspiration is a real person who helped me in my recovery from valve replacement surgery. While I credit my doctors with saving my life, the nurses who tended to my every needs in no small way deserve equal credit.

Creating a world where the rules of physical reality are my own creation. As in dreams, I learned years ago that there are no rules in dreamland and that I can bend physics to my will.

I write whether inspired or not. In doing so I've avoided writer's block this far. As a novel is a thousand mile journey I just put one foot forward, one after the other finding the journey compels me on to discover what happens next.
