Randall Moore makes Boise, Idaho, his home after living most of his life in Southern California.
He’s a rabid reader and lover of history and peppers his tales, when appropriate, with historical references and strives to make the details as historically accurate and pertinent as possible.
While he has extensive experience writing, whether it’s poetry, personal journals, newspaper articles, or advertising copywriting, he’s always had a soft spot in his heart for fiction. To that end, he began to pour all his energy into writing fiction in 2013. To this date, he has written 32 novels in varying degrees of completion. He’s self-published 17 and published another with Atmosphere Press.

Placing his hand on the doorknob he opened the door and was pulled inside by the shrieking, flaming demon which clutched his body in its talons and sucked all vestiges of life from his body and disappeared into a flaming vortex as what had once been a human being shattered into a thousand shards as it crashed to the floor.(less)

“The gunfire had brought the attention of the bouncers upstairs. We took position at the bottom of the stairs. I told the girls to stay behind us and ran to the top of the stairs. The door opened and I was looking into the face of one of the Thai bouncers. He looked at my gun and started to turn. I grabbed him by the collar and held him in front of me. He was unarmed, but the others weren’t. They opened fire, killing their compatriot as I returned fire, killing one. Fortunately for me the three other guys on my side, Jim, Miguel and Frank came up behind me and cut the other armed men down in a hail of bullets. There was a commotion in the main room of the brothel as I cracked the door open. Four men with guns were walking toward the door. Miguel joined me as I flung it open. We each had two pistols in our hands. I fired one weapon after the other at the two men to the left while Miguel did the same to the two men on our right. The smoke of cordite was swirling into the room like deadly incense. People were screaming and huddling by the walls. Jim and Frank led the girls into the front room."
from "The Noble Heart”
Randall Moore

“Like all the great nobles of the period, he rode and fought to perfection. But unlike most of the Grands, his scholastic education hadn’t been overlooked. Porthos pretended to understand the scraps of Latin that Aramis deployed, but Athos just smiled at them. Two or three times, to the great astonishment of his friends, he’d even caught Aramis in some fundamental error and restored a verb to its proper tense or a noun to its case. On top of all this, his integrity was irreproachable, in a century when men of war routinely trampled on the dictates of conscience and religion, lovers behaved without the least delicacy or decorum, and the poor roundly ignored God’s seventh commandment.”
Alexandre Dumas, The Three Musketeers

“The crowd bowed their heads and listened to the chaplain recite a brief prayer—vague and generic enough to offend no one, which, of course, resulted in offending almost everyone.”
Brian Andrews, Tier One

“He could breach and clear a room while picking out guitar chords in his head for a new country song, but this simple technique required all his attention.”
Brian Andrews, Tier One

“Look who’s talking, Mick Jagger.” “Jagger? The dude weighs a hundred pounds and struts around like a peacock. We have absolutely nothing in common.” “Not true. You’re both geriatric and you both have egos big enough to fill a stadium.” They were both genuinely laughing as they entered Les Brassins—filling the role of happy lovers on holiday in Brussels without looking like they were trying.”
Brian Andrews, War Shadows

Randall Moore Thanks for the kind words. I'm really glad you enjoyed them. Writing them was cathartic as have been my other books. I just finished a draft of my 26th novel and am in the process of editing and reading my next to offer to the wolves of literature. Just finished Daniel Silva's latest and loved it. My just-finished draft is a fantasy with a twist. It may kill it for the readers but a third of the way in it's revealed that the dashing young hero is actually an elderly dementia patient on his death bed. The story goes back and forth in his mind until things are set right in the world he discovered at the top of his mind.
I'm preparing to query my novel A Taste of Death to literary agents. I've completed two additional readthroughs with corrections, written a query letter, 1-page synopsis and made files consisting of 5 to 50 pages. Then I throw it to the wolves and start collecting rejections. I'm anxious to know what you thought of Faithless Heart. All the best.

message 2: by John

John I've read two of your books so far and they are definite winners; Colton Lang and The Noble Heart.
