Miranda A. Uyeh Goodness! To Die Once is a product of every book I've ever read as well as every movie I've ever seen. Being my first book (not manuscript), all the ideas I had were channeled into one piece. I don't know how to explain that, so please don't ask.
Miranda A. Uyeh The best of my inspirations come when I'm busy with chores in my house. I don't know why, but my brain has this quirky habit of running to get busy with other things when it finds that my hands are busy. *shaking my head and chuckling*

I also get inspirations from my other books/movies.
Miranda A. Uyeh I'm working on three series and a fantasy. Yeah, I write that way. Can't stick to one project (I've found that this also helps in dealing with writer's block I could have great ideas for this one book, and have absolutely none for the other. So I figure, why not sue your time wisely then. But in all my writing, there's the one story that takes top priority). My priority book is "To Lie Once: Child of Grace #2". The second series is a romance thriller. The third is historical romance. And, then, there's that fantasy. I sound like I'm all over the place, don't I? Don't worry, the center piece of ALL my stories is romance.
Miranda A. Uyeh A couple ...

1. Never, ever give up on your dream. NO MATTER WHAT.
2. Know who you are on the inside and embrace it. Don't be afraid or ashamed to be the person that you know you are on the inside. Proudly embrace who you are, even if it means being different from everyone else out there. In fact, dare to be different. After all, fitting in is overrated. Standing out many times is what makes you outstanding. The power to be a great writer always comes from inside of you. So, be you. Gratefully. Humbly. Proudly.
3. For every industry you plan to enter, you must learn as much as you can about it. Make friends with other writers and reader bloggers. Follow authors and other professionals who know their stuff. You'll be grateful for the knowledge because, only fools rush in.
4. All fingers aren't equal. Some books are an instant success. Others are slow in rising. Still, some don't make it all. Keep this mind and never allow the failure/success of one book to the determine your journey. If there's a sure path you believe you need to follow, do so.

These are a few. Well, there're a lot. I could go on and on and on...
Miranda A. Uyeh You get to create anything you please! You explore knowledge and truth to a level that resonates with you and other people. You make a whole new world that comes to life in the minds of people that read your work! This is a skill that not everyone has. It's a blessing to be among those who do.
Miranda A. Uyeh There are a couple of ways I deal with writer's block. First of, when I'm brain tired, I acknowledge that I am, and I don't force anything. I give my brain the needed rest and leisure it needs/desires. I've found that the leisures (books/movies) help develop ideas.

Second, I'm a plotter and pantser. Somewhere along the line I discovered that I did both and wasn't purely any of them. So I embraced both writing styles and even trained myself on how to use each one. There are days when the creative juices flow excessively, and I let go, even surprising myself with what I come up with. Some of my most brilliant writings have come to me this way. Other days (i.e. the writer block days) are slow or empty. So I simply take a pen and paper, mark the beginning and end of the basic idea of my story as A & Z, and then I "logically" start to plot the in-betweens like I'd do any essay. The plotting, however, is never fully detailed, so that I have room for free-rein-writing. I love complex stories! And, plotting is the way to achieve complexity without giving your story a structure problem. So, yeah, I find it fun, too!
