Heath Stallcup The internet went down.
It never returned.
Heath Stallcup It would have to be the Start Wars universe.
Just the idea of space travel as easy as going to the market? That would be incredible.
Heath Stallcup Excellent question.
Our previous house was haunted. I didn't believe in haunted places despite TV shows like Ghost Hunters and the like. My children kept reporting different activities that I wrote off as the active imaginations of kids.
I was wrong.
Whatever it was seemed focused on my youngest son. It would 'speak' to him, telling him to "Get out!" of his own room. It then escalated to the point of physical attacks. Items would be thrown across the living room at him, he was pushed while showering. One time it scratched down the middle of his back where he couldn't possibly reach and they stretched from the base of his neck to the top of his butt. Three deep, red, bloody scratches.
We did eventually move and whatever it is still possesses the house to this day. The woman who moved in after we left thought it would be fun to live in a haunted house...until she experienced it. Now she refuses to stay there alone.
Heath Stallcup I would go with lead characters from Whispers. Sheriff Tolbert and Mary. Their romance is just beginning to blossom when they are cut down. It is the strength, passion and depth of their love that leads to the rest the story.
Heath Stallcup Amy, that's a good question. Normally the MS series is about 4-6 months apart in new releases, however I took some time off during the holidays to try to recover from burnout. I piddled with different projects but just recently sat back down to address the next saga in the MS universe.
I know I'm pretty far behind but I hope to get caught up soon. As of niw, there is no tentative release date, but I do plan on continuing the stories through at least one more saga.
Heath Stallcup It's only been recently that I've run into it. In the past, the stories always told themselves, I just typed them. The only thing that really helped me was to step away and work on a different project for a short time. It seems that as soon as I did that, ideas began flowing and I was able to go back to the original project with a ton of new ideas.
Heath Stallcup You can create new worlds with new characters that people will either love or hate or love to hate. If something comes up and you have to step away for a wee bit, it's not the end of the world. It's still waiting for you when you come back.
Heath Stallcup Don't give up. Get a good editor. Surround yourself with positive people. Trust me, you'll be hard enough on yourself as it is. Seems like writers all suffer this problem...we're our own worst critic.
Heath Stallcup My current project (as of this date, anyway) is MS6 - Wayward Son. I'm hoping that this next Monster Squad saga will only be three books instead of four, but only time will tell.
Heath Stallcup It's become habit now. I feel guilty if I don't write. I'm like a bulldog with a bone once I start a project. I don't want to step away from it unless it's been completed.
Heath Stallcup My most recent book is one of the Monster Squad series. I actually got the idea by arguing with my wife. She was reading a typical vampire book and the heroine was worried if the vampire 'could love her'. I thought that was ludicrous. She should break the leg off the coffee table and shove it through his chest! He's a monster. They should have NAVY SEALs out there hunting them down. She challenged me to write it myself.
Eventually, I did. It became the Monster Squad.
