Goodreads asked Heath Stallcup:

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Heath Stallcup Excellent question.
Our previous house was haunted. I didn't believe in haunted places despite TV shows like Ghost Hunters and the like. My children kept reporting different activities that I wrote off as the active imaginations of kids.
I was wrong.
Whatever it was seemed focused on my youngest son. It would 'speak' to him, telling him to "Get out!" of his own room. It then escalated to the point of physical attacks. Items would be thrown across the living room at him, he was pushed while showering. One time it scratched down the middle of his back where he couldn't possibly reach and they stretched from the base of his neck to the top of his butt. Three deep, red, bloody scratches.
We did eventually move and whatever it is still possesses the house to this day. The woman who moved in after we left thought it would be fun to live in a haunted house...until she experienced it. Now she refuses to stay there alone.
