What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?
David C. Dawson My grandfather was in the First World War during which he was gassed and his lungs were damaged. He wasn't medically fit to serve in the Second World War. Instead, he was issued with a powerful shortwave wireless set and instructed to listen out for spies operating around where he lived in East London. I never got the chance to ask him if he ever discovered anyone. I've often thought about the jeopardy he might face if he was discovered to be the spy, spying on the spies.

What are you currently working on?
David C. Dawson I have two projects on the go. The first is a First World War love story based on a true story. The second project is the next book in the Dominic Delingpole mystery series! It's taken me a while, but I'm on to it now.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
David C. Dawson Write! It's simple, but we are our worst critics and blockers.
Write daily to keep that writing muscle working.
Read Julian Cameron's excellent The Artist's Way. It's helped me so much.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
David C. Dawson It's such a tricky one! I get out of my chair and go and do something different. Anything, but ideally creative. The answer to the problem that's been blocking me somehow seems to pop into my mind.

Hi - I just finished "The Necessary Deaths" - it was a wild ride and kept me going until the very end! When is the next book in the series coming out, and will we be seeing many of the characters from this book in the next? Thanks.

It's been a lot of fun writing it and be assured, book two is well underway...:) I can't give you a publication date yet, but as soon as I know it, you'll be the first to know! Yes, some of the characters from book 1 feature in book 2 plus, there's a major shock in store...!
