Thank you for asking! “Injured Sensibilities” can certainly be read as a stand-alone novel. While there are a few recurring characters in the book, it is not necessary to have “met” them before. However, I would recommend reading “The Blackmailed Beauty” before “To Release an Earl”. That way you’ll be familiar with Willa and John. To tell the truth, Miss Marty in “Injured Sensibilities” is my favorite character that I have written. I grew up on a ranch and come from a long line of spunky, independent women so her character felt the most natural for me. I hope you will read all of my books and let me know which is your favorite. While I have most recently published a contemporary romance, “The Family Plan”, you can expect more historicals from me in the future.
All the best,

Set a word count that you are going to write each day and just do it! No excuses, no procrastination. If you miss a day because life gets in the way make it up by writing double another day. Don't worry about details or grammar or planning. That can all be fixed in a rewrite.

One of the characters in "To Release an Earl" has been demanding her own story. Therefore, I am working on "Injured Sensibilities", Miss Marty's story. I hope to have it finished and ready to submit to my publisher in Spring or early Summer.

I always wanted to write and never got around to it until my daughter was grown. At that time I decided I would never do it if I didn't force myself to write. I decided I would write 300 words a day and I kept to that until I had finished a novel. I now try to write 1000 words a day and have so many plot ideas I wish I had more time than that. I work in customer service so I meet a wide variety of "characters" to give me motivation and inspiration.

My latest novel, "To Release an Earl" will be coming out on February 10th. It is a sequel to "The Blackmailed Beauty". I love books that have continuing characters in them and I wanted to give Willa her own book. However, at the end of "The Blackmailed Beauty" Willa is engaged. This meant I had to look beyond a traditional romance. I'm not sure what caused me to think about what would happen if she were to be seriously injured in a life changing manner. Would her love for the Earl of Roydon be enough to release him from their engagement so that he might marry a woman who faced a better quality of life.
