I love being able to make my fantasies come true in the pages. I also enjoy the flexibility of the profession, as I can basically write anywhere, anytime.

I know first-hand how frustrating it can be to get published. I suggest first writing a story you're passionate about; readers can quickly tell how much interest you have in the topic. Then make sure to have the text professionally edited. Also look for a talented cover designer and write a book description that will intrigue readers. Study the examples of other successful authors; learn from their early mistakes as well. And lastly, don't give up on your dream!

Right now I'm working on the fifth book of the Zons series, which will be published in March 2015. I'm also developing the plot for a new thriller series, which will be set in Berlin. The main character is a female investigator, who is a member of a special mobile police unit. In the first thriller she will investigate a series of unresolved cases where infants and small children have been kidnapped.

I find enjoyment and inspiration in thrillers and historical romances (books or films). I also like to take walks through Zons to absorb the medieval atmosphere. Ideas will come to me in a flash at any time, whether I'm engaged in daily tasks or just relaxing with a glass of wine.

I've been living in Zons for several years now. When I walk through the dark, narrow alleys of the old town, surrounded by medieval architecture, it's like being in a time capsule that has preserved the sights, smells, sounds and textures of the Middle Ages. Vivid characters and plot lines simply spring to my mind. It's the perfect setting for a thriller.
