Hi Kelly,
I'm sorry it's taken me so long to respond. I've been suffering rather severe back issues that have limited my writing time. I've undergone several epidural cortisone treatements, but surgery is now my only option. I'm hoping to finish book 3 prior to surgery, so I'm looking at late spring/early summer.
Incidentally, I post regular updates on my facebook page:

I'm so sorry for the delay, and thank you for your interest in the series!

I actually did an entire blog post on that very subject recently:

I daydream. Living the fantasy in my mind is really my inspiration, often late at night (I suffer from terrible insomnia). I often listen to music for half an hour before I sit down to actually write. Occasionally, I'll watch scenes from certain movies to help me find the mood of the chapter I'm working on. The majority of my inspiration, however, just comes from wanting to see the fantasy on paper, making it much more tangible.

At the moment, the majority of my time is being spend writing the second book of the "Krymzyn" series. I jump forward to write a chapter in later series books at times just to make sure a key event works with what I'm doing in book two.

Make a commitment to finish a manuscript. A short story, novela, or full blown epic - it doesn't matter. As the saying goes... first drafts don't have to be perfect, they just have to be finished. My first drafts are awful. I do a lot of "telling" to get the story on paper, then go back and convert into "show", usually doubling or tripling manuscript length. But once you have a first draft completed, regardless of the quality, the sense of achievement will help you eventually get the story to where you want it. The key is to just make that commitment to get the first draft finished.

I sit down at the computer and write. Even if they're meaningless words that I later scrap or completely rewrite, for me, writing through troublesome areas in a manuscript or parts of the story I'm not sure about help me get back on track.
