Hi Susan, That's wonderful. I'm in Europe and have been missing just about everything in the States, including my emails:) Yes, I believe she is still alive and well, and in Las Vegas. This last year, renewed interest in her story has resulted in her being in the media a bit more, one on MSNBC if I recall correctly. I'm sure others would appreciate a quick review of the book on amazon about the bio- (I know I would!). I've provided it for free because her story is so incredible I want the world to know about it--and I get so many wonderful comments but so few readers make a note. Please do if you can--and look Sue if you have the inclination. I'm sure she'd love it! Sarah

When someone smiles, cries, gives me a hug or told them I made them think in a way they otherwise would not have done. It's amazing.

1. don't let the negativity and skepticism of others get you down. No one, and I do mean, no one in my circle of friends or family gave me a positive response when I began writing fiction. (The non-fiction doesn't count because I had a job and career that lent itself to my first book published by McGraw-Hill). When it came to fiction, it was another matter entirely. Keep your head down, focus and write. You will prove them wrong (as I did!)
2. when and if you feel stalled, use 100 days of creative writing. A great inspirational tool that was pivotal when I was starting out (I include this in my book for authors). I also use the analogy its like you are a pilot in a plane that has stalled out. The pilot doesn't give up and hit the Earth. The pilot keeps flying and gets the plane out of the dive. That's what authors do--we keep writing until we get ourselves out of the stall.

Like all multi-tasking authors, I have three projects. The 10th Anniversary Edition of the Overlooked Expert just went to print. Author Straight Talk will be forthcoming in Dec 2017. Book two of the Chambers series is in editing (love the cover!!) and then I'm midway through book 3 in the Danielle Grant series. Beyond that, I'm keeping my mouth shut, as I'm invariably getting in trouble for pre-announcing my books.

Short question, long answer. My most vivid memory is endlessly running around the junior high track, fantasizing about storylines to take my mind off the pain in my legs. Honestly, I can't remember a time I wasn't creating stories, but didn't actually put it down on paper until a high school English teacher encouraged me to do so.

Author Straight Talk, which will be released in early Dec 2017, is the compilation of about 200 questions I asked, and have been asked by me over the last 10+ years. Although my agent and business manager have complained it's taking time away from writing fiction, the reality is someone has to do it...and it's so frustrating to me that everything I wanted to know IS out there, but no one talks about it...so I am.
