The mystery of how my kids can bounce out of bed on the weekend before 7 am, and yet during the week, it's a battle to get up before 7:30. Haha! I'd love that mystery to be solved. #parentingproblems
But on a serious note, hmm, there's no mysterious happenings in my life. I'm not that exciting. ;) However, I could make up something. How about...
The nosy neighbour who butts into everyone's personal lives and gossips like crazy has just been discovered dead. As each neighbour gets questioned, suspicions rise and the police go from having zero suspects to having a block full. Who did it? Better yet, do any of the neighbours really care?

Haha - what a loaded question. If you are talking about my favourite fictional couple from all the books I've read, then I'd have to say Hazel and Augustus. I love that story, I love the feelings it brought out of me and I love the way the characters interacted with each other and the outside world.
Now, if you're asking me to choose between the fictional characters I've written, that's like asking me to choose which of my children is my favourite. ;)
Charlotte & Andrew are so vastly different from Aurora & Nate. Each has a different outlook on life, which affects the world around them. They each bring something real and magical to the table, so to speak, and like children, they each drive me crazy at times. But I love them all.

One evening, my family and I were out with friends when the idea jumped into my head. What would happen if someone with vehicular PTSD fell in love with someone whose passion was all things cars? Think of all the conflict that could create. I couldn't stop thinking about it and was probably a bit of a recluse as the ideas swirled in my head. ;)
I went home and started writing my character sketches for my two main characters. Aurora's name went through a couple of changes, she was originally written as a Jasmine. Nate was Nate. There was no question in my mind who he was and what his passion was all about.
Of course, to make Nate's character authentic, I needed to do some research. And the research was the best part of writing the book. I got up close and personal with a passion I did not know much about. Mental notes, videos and conversations, I had constructed the core. Passion vs terror.
Although at the heart of the story is the romance, there is also a few action packed scenes that were as fun to write, as they were to watch. What am I talking about? LOL - you'll need to read Duly Noted to find out. But everyone agrees, it's HOT and sexy as hell!

I just finished writing DULY NOTED, a new book with new characters and I'm really proud of it. With any luck it will be out this JUNE!
These characters are quite different than Charlotte, Andrew and clan.
Here's the non-quite-set-in-stone blurb for it and I'd LOVE to hear your thoughts.
Brassy and brazen Aurora is working a summer job at the library. The lone survivor of a car crash has left her lost and broken. She struggles daily with PTSD and an unparalleled fear of vehicles. Even with Percocet and Xanax, she’s terrified to venture beyond the restricted world she lives in.
Nate’s a laborer on the library expansion. He’s hot as sin and can dish out as much sass as he takes. Nate wants to help her overcome her PTSD, and though his approach is unusual, it gets results. His goal is to show her his world, an adrenaline-filled weekend hobby he loves as much as life itself.
One wrong move jeopardizes everything they’ve worked for.
However, his world collides with her PTSD in a catastrophic way, scaring them both. Afraid to lose Nate, she breaks his heart, saying she’s not right for him. Hearing that Nate’s giving up his hobby throws Aurora into motion. He can’t give up his love for her, so she comes up with a plan. A dangerous one. One where she’ll have to use everything he’s taught her, and find a way to put her trust in something unknown.
Herself.

Yes there is. The second book is called "Ask Me Again" and will be out in the fall. :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it so. I'd love to read your review of it.
