Jason Little Find your voice and style. I've been told I'm great at explaining complex subjects in simple ways. Of course, people don't realize I'm a total fraud and I'm just not all that bright!

Either way, I found my voice of simplicity and try to write the way I talk. Sometimes it's less formal than some would like, but that's the point. Find your voice, and be yourself.

I suppose the next piece of advice is that the book is one small part of your overall purpose, it's not the 'end'.
Jason Little The freedom. Today's world is at a place where you don't need a pushy publishing company harassing you for copy. The rules are different so I write when I feel like it. I'd say a close second would be that once you have a published book people listen to you. I've been saying the same ideas for a decade, but now that there's a book, people want to hear the message.
Jason Little Usually, I keep writing. Eventually, the ideas come out. Sometimes I change the environment by going for a walk, hunting Pokemon's or playing drums. I never mentally disconnect from writing because I'm always thinking about the ideas so even if I'm doing a physical activity, the neurons are still battle each other to string together the words I'm looking for.
