A new novel, at long last!

I'm so excited to be launching a new novel, at last.

Searching for Mr. Yesterday is a romantic novel with a twistSearching for Mr. Yesterday: Tracking down her old flames starts out as fun, but could reigniting romance risk dragging up demons from Suzy's past?b>, so it's very appropriate that it's out this week in paperback and ebook. The audiobook will be on sale very soon!

You can find the book on all major online bookstores, and buy signed copies through my website store: https://www.sarah-rayner.com/shop/

Two Sarah Rayner novels out today!

Today I am celebrating the republication of my first two novels, The Other Half and Getting Even as ebooks by Picador.

Since the success of One Moment, One Morning, readers have been asking how they can get hold of these titles, and for a few years they were out of print so the only suggestion I could make was to hunt for second hand paperbacks online.

I'm therefore thrilled Picador UK are reissuing both titles as fully updated and revised ebooks, with gorgeous new virtual covers. St Martin's Press will be publishing them in the USA and Canada in the spring.

The Other Half and Getting Even are lighter, sexier reads than One Moment, One Morning and The Two Week Wait, nonetheless I'm proud of these new editions, which I believe are hugely improved as a result of my spending considerable time along with my editor at Picador reworking them.

If you should read them once they're out, I'd love to know what you think.

December 6 sees The Other Half and Getting Even republished

Before One, Moment, One Morning, and The Two Week Wait, I had two rather different novels published - The Other Half (Orion 2001) and Getting Even (2002). Since the success of One Moment, One Morning, readers have been asking how they can get hold of these titles, and for a few years they were out of print so the only suggestion I could make was to hunt for second hand paperbacks online.

I'm therefore thrilled that on December 6 2012 Picador UK are reissuing both titles as fully updated and revised ebooks, with gorgeous new virtual covers. St Martin's Press will be publishing them in the USA and Canada not long after.

The Other Half and Getting Even are lighter reads than my latest two books, nonetheless I'm proud of these new editions, which I believe are hugely improved as a result of my spending considerable time along with my editor at Picador reworking them.

If you should read them once they're out, I'd love to know what you think.

Little author film now live

Hello, there's a lovely little film Picador has made for my readers, I've uploaded it on Good Reads, so please do take a look. It shows me at work in my office, strolling around Brighton and more, and I talk about both One Moment, One Morning and The Two Week Wait. It's also on my website, www.thecreativepumpkin.com, and You Tube. I hope you like it.

Waterstones has picked The Two Week Wait for its Summer Book Club

Hurrah!

I've had to keep this secret (which for a chatterbox like me is VERY difficult, I assure you) but it's official, The Two Week Wait has been picked for Waterstones Book Club Summer Reads and they will be discounting the paperback - which is out the day after tomorrow (July 5)- for three months along with 11 others.

They're pitching the choice as 'Books you'll love or your money back' which is scary. Thank goodness I don't work behind the counter and have to listen to customers saying they want their fivers back because they thought it was rubbish!

Book Group questions for One Moment, One Morning

Hi folks, I thought I'd add some questions for book groups. First up One Moment, One Morning...

1.For the person who chose the book: What made you suggest it to the group?
2.Do the characters Lou, Anna and Karen seem real and believable? How do they change throughout the course of the story? Who was your favourite, and why? To what extent do they remind you of yourself or someone you know?
3.Talk about the secondary characters – Simon, Steve and Lou’s mother, and Karen’s children, Molly and Luke. Were they important to the story? Did any stand out for you? Were there any who you didn’t like, and why?
4.What did you think about the structure? All the events take place in a week. What did you think of the use of flashbacks and multiple perspectives?
5.What was more important, the characters or plot? Was the plot moved forward by decisions of the characters, or were the characters at the mercy of the plot?
6. The title of One Moment suggests that there are pivotal moments when lives can change course forever. Have you had any such pivotal experiences?
7.What did you think about setting the book in Brighton? How did it enhance or take away from the story? Was the description of the local community good?
8.What about the language/style? Was the language appropriate to the story? Was it more poetic or vernacular? (You might like to have each member read a favourite passage out loud. It’s best to warn them ahead of time so they'll be prepared.)
9.What specific themes did you notice? Did you think there was anything particular Sarah Rayner is trying to get across to the reader overall? In what ways do the events in the book reveal evidence of Sarah Rayner’s world view?
10. Did certain parts of the book make you uncomfortable? If so, why? Did this lead to a new understanding or awareness of some aspect of your life you might not have thought about before?
11. Are you glad you read One Moment, One Morning? What do you think will be your lasting impression? Would you recommend it, and did it make you want to read more work by the author?
