Renegade by Michael Evans

If you didn’t yet read the first three books of Conspiracy Chronicles by Michael Evans, please do it now! In the fourth book of this awesome series, Renegade, this prolific and very talented teenage author shifts into the highest gear so far.

It is a full action near future science fiction thriller for young adults and those who are not afraid to feel young and love such books, with death waiting around every corner, mass murders, incredible shooting scenes, and blood up to your knees. And it all takes for Sam and his friend Jake to put an end to the ruthless dictatorship and prevent a horrible genocide to occurring in China after millions of human lives were lost in the similar way in America. But will it be enough?

A crazy, good read; don’t miss it!

Aftershock by Michael Evans

To the fans of sci-fi, YA, technothrillers, apocalypse, dystopia, and conspiracy books: please read all four books in the Conspiracy Chronicles series because you don’t want to miss anything until you get to the Book 5, Aftershock. So much has happened, and is going on in this latest installment, as Sam, Jake and Ai try to save China—and the entire world—from the natural disaster engineered by President Li and the Party.

The very thought of an earthquake gives me enough creeps and terror even without thinking of the man-made earthquake of the magnitude and size to destroy hundreds of millions on the eastern seaboard of China. But the most impressive parts of Aftershock to me are unforgettable and unbelievable action scenes on the oil rig in the East China Sea. If this book series ever turned into a movie, Hollywood and the Marvel Cinematic Universe films would have a serious competition!

This novel is a nuclear bomb made of robots and futuristic technology ready to explode. And its author, Michael Evans, has no second thoughts before pressing the “activate” button and giving us one huge AFTERSHOCK. This book detonates from the beginning to the end!

Delusional by Michael Evans

I abandoned the idea of writing this review by retelling what happened to Natalie and Ethan after escaping death from the hands of merciless President Ash in the bowels of Area 51 because the ending of Delusional, book 2 in Control Freakz Series, surprised me so much that I still try to process what on earth happened and why the author did it!

I want to hang on to this feeling, without spoiling much the reading to those of you who will grab this futuristic, dystopian, action-packed thriller, eager to see what has Natalie gone through before completing a full circle from escaping to returning to the hateful Area 51 facility where she left behind not only the ones she loved most, but also the vital part of herself—her memories.

After posting this review, I’m moving on to the last book in the Control Freakz Series box set, where I also read this book. The suspense and adrenaline in me are still high and waiting won’t help. Thirteen months after reading the first book in the series, Michael Evans hooked me again with this story and I am determined to plunge without delay into another set of action scenes, mind and political games and fights for the world domination, manipulations, dark thoughts and personal crisis, not delusional but aware that I should expect the unexpected.

Veil by Eliot Peper

Maybe it is no coincidence that Veil by Eliot Peper is being launched at a time when the cries for saving our planet and warning about climate change were the strongest and on its peak when another threat appeared out of the blue and silenced them. As the threat to the world population kills people everywhere, who is still thinking about global warming and climate change? Is it that important when we don’t know who will tomorrow live and who will die?

Yes, it is important. Because, viruses or no viruses, without the climate that sustains the thriving of all creatures, viruses won’t matter because there won’t be any life for them to attack. It will all be barren and dead.

Veil is an important book that comes at the right time. As we are afraid, or forced to fear for our own existence, we must not lose this global picture from our sight. Because what will happen if someone hijacks our climate and starts disasters that kill tens of million people and puts the future of our civilization at stake?

This is what happens in Veil, an intriguing, informative and educational “family” story, veiled in secrets, manipulations and their revelations, and rediscovered friendship and family ties.

Eliot Peper is not only a skilled storyteller, but also a teacher. He warns us about what can happen when a single human being gets enough power to change the world and gives us food for thought what will we do and what kind of future we want for ourselves and our loved ones.

This is a wake-up call, and if we don’t pull our heads out of the sand of ignorance, not only will someone with power hijack our climate but also our lives and very existence.

I want to thank Eliot for giving me the opportunity to read his advance review copy and conclude my honest review with two brilliant excerpts from his brand new novel.

Time distending into singularity at the moment of impact, every fiber of her soul resonating at the same frequency before shattering like a crystal champagne flute under the ringing soprano of an opera singer.

Clarity is not short sentences, she’d said. Or long sentences. Or sentences of any particular flavor. Clarity is forging your imagination into a pebble that, when tossed, will ripple through other minds.
