A Home Like Ours is now out WORLD WIDE!
It's summer solstice and to celebrate, it's world-wide release day for A HOME LIKE OURS. Before now only the Aussies and Kiwis have been able to enjoy this women's fiction novel but now it doesn't matter where you live! You can enjoy it in print, eBook or on audio. How cool is that?
A HOME LIKE OURS is about four very different women facing four different life struggles. Under normal circumstances they would never be friends, in fact some would actively avoid the other, but when the community garden comes under threat they find themselves reluctantly working together.
This book explores racism, homelessness and other forms of displacement and it features strong women trying to live their best lives under difficult circumstances. It will make you laugh and cry and rage and fill you with joy. I promise no matter where I take you inside the pages, the book ends on a hopeful note. Read it at the beach, in a hammock, under the shade of a tree in the woods. It makes great summer reading!
You can buy it whereever you buy your books online or ask your local book shop to order in a print copy. Buy Links are here. For more information about it and to read the blurb head to my website. Happy Reading! Fiona xx

Birthright is Free for a Limited Time!
Dear Lovely Northern Hemisphere Readers,
I know you're doing it tough with winter and Covid-19 so to let you know I'm thinking of you, I'm giving away the eBook version of Birthright my women's fiction/family novel for a very limited time. You can grab at at Amazon, Apple Books Google Play, Barnes and Noble and Kobo.
So what's it about? "Where there's a will, there's a relative," said Roger Karshner. Very true! Birthright is my novel about a family, who among other things, are behaving badly over money. Three very different adult siblings, all with children of their own, have an aging mother and after years of living away, the eldest son and youngest daughter return to small town Mingunyah. Sarah is the eldest by nine months, but has always been overshadowed by her brother, Cameron, who is their mother, Margaret's, favorite. Ellie was a difficult teenager and no one can see the adult she has become. Cameron believes his father's early death denied him the family business and feels owed. Everyone has their own set of relationship issues of their own and then there is Margaret - a matricarch in the true sense of the word.
When Margaret's health deteriorates will long-held secrets and childhood rivalries smash this family into pieces?
I hope you enjoy Birthright.
Best wishes,
Fiona x

Birthright
Dear Readers,
'Where there's a will, there's a relative' is a very apt statement. I wrote Birthright, because I wanted to explore, among other things, the tricky topic of family and money. Is inheritance a right or a privilege ? How do sibling rivalries and parental favorites impact on decisions? If one adult child is rich, does this mean they inherit less? And what happens when an elderly parent starts to fail and is open to coercison? I've also thrown in a struggling marriage, an estranged sister , a sister-in-law and one of the nicest men I've ever written, along with one of the worst. I hope you enjoy spending time with Ellie, Sarah and Anita as they navigate their lives, their family ties and a matriarch who isn't who she seems.
Happy Reading!

Just an Ordinary Family is out in the world!
Hi, Everyone,
I'm excited that Just an Ordinary Family
is now available to readers around the world! The Aussies and Kiwis have been enjoying this novel about friendship, love and betrayal, trust and regret, forgiveness and the complexities of modern relationships since March so I'm excited to share it to everyone else. Among many things, this novel delves into family, friendship, motherhood - the challenges of being a mother or trying to become a mother - and how to protect the innocence of children.
Goodread reviews say readers are both laughing and crying and missing the characters when the novel ends, which thrills me!
So what does the back cover say?
Liane Moriarty meets Jodi Picoult in this tensely negotiated story of family ties, betrayal and sacrifice.
Every family has its secrets...
Alice Hunter is smarting from the raw deal life has thrown her way: suddenly single, jobless and forced to move home to her parents' tiny seaside town. And now she faces an uncomfortable truth. She wants her twin sister Libby's enviable life.
Libby's closest friend Jess Dekic has been around the Hunter family for so long she might as well be blood. She's always considered herself a sister closer to Libby than Alice ever could be...
Libby Hunter has all of life's boxes ticked: prominent small-town doctor, gorgeous husband and two young daughters. But when she is betrayed by those she loves most, it reveals how tenuous her world is...
For Karen Hunter, her children are a double-edged sword of pain and pride. She's always tried to guide her girls through life's pitfalls, but how do you protect your children when they're adults?
As the family implodes, the fallout for these four women will be inescapable...
Bestselling Australian author Fiona Lowe wields a deft hand, creating utterly addictive storytelling that will have you questioning your own perceptions of what family is.
You can read Just an Ordinary Family in print, ebook
or listen to it in audio. Rebecca Macauley does an amazing job narrating this and her delightful Australian accent will immerse you in the book.
If you love strong women trying to live their best lives, then Just an Ordinary Family is for you. To view a video of me chatting about the book, for photos that inspired the story, to read an excerpt and for all the buy links head over to my my website.
Wondering what else had been released recently?
Thanks for celebrating my release day and happy reading.

Home Fires: a day no one wanted to remember. A day no one could forget.
Hi,
I'm so thrilled that Home Fires my wildfire novel about four strong women fighting for their town, their relationships and their lives is now available to readers around the world.
Around the world, wildfires are becoming more intense, burning longer and rural communites and those on the urban fringe are under threat. Think California and Oregon. I've experienced wildfire and I wanted to write a novel exploring the issues of a community facing a natural disaster and the flow on effects in the following years.
This book is about four couples, all at different stages of their lives and how they rebuild their town and their relationships after a fire. Each of them experienced the fire differently. Some lost loved ones. Some lost their house. Some lost their jobs.
Women are the emotional rock of family and community. At the start of the book, the only thing Julie, Claire, Bec and Sophie have in common is their town burned to the ground. By the end of the novel, they discover friendship and support is key to survival.
Home Fires was first published in Australia in 2019 during yet another challenging and awful fire season and another followed in 2020. Right now California is burning and my heart goes out to everyone dealing with this catastrophe. Home Fires has universal themes that cross the Pacific. It's got a 4.3 average on Goodreads and I do hope you enjoy reading it.
Best wishes,
Fiona

USA & UK Readers, meet Birthright!
HI,
I have more book news! I'm so excited to be bringing my Australian bestselling novels to readers around the world. Joining Daughter of Mine is Birthright, my novel about a family, an inheritance, a difficult mother and scheming siblings. I got the idea for this book from everyday life.
In 2020, people are inheriting family money in their 60's rather than their 40's and this is causing a new epidemic of inheritance impatience and elder abuse. Throw in adult sibling rivalry and it can get very messy and makes for a great and meaty story!
If you enjoy women's fiction about families, sisters and mother-daughter relationships along with secrets, lies and some romance thrown in then BIRTHRIGHT is for you. Not sure? Check out the reviews at Birthright
You can buy it in print, audio or eBook whereever you buy your books.
Amazon
Apple Books
Barnes & Noble
Google Play
Please let me know what you think!
Happy reading and please stay safe.
