Renewal

The meaning of Easter is that of a new covenant, while signs of Spring awaken longings for a new beginning. It’s been a year since I submitted the manuscript of my Contemporary Women’s Fiction novel, ‘An Enlightening Quiche,’ for publication.

Just as I did last year for my extended family at our Easter gathering, I will bake Quiche Simone in accordance with the recipe provided in the epilogue of my novel where an heirloom quiche recipe and baking rivalry resurrect the past, reconcile irreversible misfortunes in the present, and redefine the future.

Just how do I plan to redefine or renew my future via book marketing strategies?

Keeping the faith by moving forward with investing time and/or money to foster a belief in my book.

1 – This week I entered my novel in the Golden Quill Award contest:

2 – On May 1st, my femme fatale protagonist, Augusta Bergeron, will be featured at The Slick Writing Corner’s “Interview with the Stars”! A shout out to fellow Indie author, Tabi Slick, who goes all out for her unique Facebook events.

3- I submitted my book for another Goodreads Giveaway (May 1st – 31st), whereby US residents are eligible to enter this contest for the chance to win a signed paperback.

4- I’m keeping my eyes peeled on social media for promotional prospects via author interviews, takeover events, and writing contests.

May every Indie author find a lucrative prospect to renew the faith in perpetuating a dream.

Renewing Self-Belief

Underlying Notes by Eva Pasco

Once Upon A Fabulous Time... by R.M. Gauthier

Although Easter is a religious holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus, the buck doesn’t stop there. Easter behooves one to reflect upon the themes of rebirth, reinvention, or renewal as deemed necessary by each individual.

For me, it’s renewing self-belief.

In what?

My capacity as a writer.

Why?

Because it’s so easy to get sidelined if you’re not grounded in the courage of your convictions. Hence, I’m renewing self-belief in my capacity as a writer who navigates the arduous course that comes with the territory of self-publication.

I will continue to take unsolicited advice from the so-called “experts” with a grain of salt.

I will continue to progress along my Work in Progress at my own pace, reaching “the end,” when my characters are ready, and not before.

I will continue to keep the faith that book sales are forthcoming as a result of the merit of my writing—without my offering them for “free”.

That said, I will continue to respect the opinions and practices of other Indies navigating their own rugged terrain the way they see fit.

I will continue to support fellow Indies by purchasing, reading, and reviewing their books. MyTBR list is deep!

*Whatever your walk of life, may you continue to foster self-belief by any means necessary.

Eva’s Byte #410 – Spring Awakening

The birds I hear chirping outside my office window at the tail end of winter have inspired my spring awakening. Taking advantage of early March’s inclement weather coming in like a lion, I’ve begun cleaning and organizing closets and drawers. No time like the present to see what I no longer need, or don’t need any more of.

Like pairs of navy blue socks. Even though I tend to wear jeans when out and about running errands—unless the temperature is freezing or below—I don’t wear socks.

Until one of my handbags falls apart, I won’t be adding to the collection.

Suffice it to say, courtesy of the pandemic, I’m well-stocked on hand sanitizer and disinfectant spray.

In the capacity of a writer who is mindful not to sink a story with the dead weight of superfluous words, I’m springing forward along my Contemporary WIP. I finished drafting chapter 28 (1984 words) and have begun drafting chapter 29 at a crawl of 74 words.

*May the signs of spring awaken each of us to embrace new beginnings and transformations.

My sincere appreciation to you for reading this far.
