#MoneyAintAThing!

This post is written by Stephanie Thavixay who's story is featured in my book Hustle Believe Receive.

Sometimes you just have to say FUCK IT and shoot for the stars!  Take that leap of faith and trust that everything will turn out the way it should. (#CourageOverFear)

#MomLife Stephanie from #HustleBelieveReceive

When Sarah (Centrella) first asked me to be part of an event in New York with ABC News I was thinking to myself "Ugh!  I wish I could be there!" I wanted to go support #HustleBelieveReceive and potentially get my brand (#MomLife) seen by thousands/millions of people who watch ABC news!

But since I went to the VIP NYC Book Launch Party a month ago in NYC, I've been playing financial catch up. I've literally been living check by check, trying to save a couple dollars here and there ! So once Sarah finally got the confirmation of the date and location, I sat back and asked myself weather it would be worth it do go, or not.

I had JUST ENOUGH to buy my ticket to get there and back, and Sarah offered for me to stay with her at her hotel if I needed to, so I ran the trip idea by my best friend and she was totally down to go with me and pay for our hotel! So I figured...sweet!!! #MoneyAintAthing!  A day later we booked our flights and I had exactly a week away from the trip and $300 to my name.

By the day of the actual trip I was down to $100 and 2 days until my direct deposit hits my bank account. Honestly it didn't really bother me and I just went forward anyways. (#CourageOverFear) My best friend and I traded off paying for food and she treated me out for drinks our first night there, so it was all working out perfectly.

The event was freaking AHHHHMAZING! (Watch the video here) I was not nervous at all,  I just went with the flow.  Every time I hear Sarah read her story out loud I always get a little teary eyed, because her story is so gut-wrenching and real, and shows the true form of #HBR.

After the event we went back to our hotel packed up and I basically stayed up waiting for it to hit 3:30 AM to go to the airport, and we were actually one of the first people who were waiting at the gate. When they started boarding I was asking the gate agent why my name was not on the screen?? She kept brushing me off to the side and said that they were waiting to see where they can put me....in the mean time my mind was racing with all the things I had planned to do when I get home at 10:00 AM, a whole day ahead of me...

Take my oldest to the doctorsSurprise my little one at his first ever Valentine's Day party at schoolHit up the print shop to fill orders.

The flight attendant got on the intercom and asked if there were any volunteers to give up their seats for $700 delta miles. Only two people took up on the offer and I was not one of the two who got on the plane.

They closed the doors.

I started freaking out, tears and all I just saw my whole day, all my plans just disappearing into dust when they told the other gate agents to close it up and prepare the plane to take off...

My friend was the third volunteer to surrender her seat for someone because she didn't want to leave me. As we stood there, I was balling my eyes out just feeling completely helpless, the gate agent tells the other one to issue $1,000 gift card of our choice to each of the people who didn't get a seat on that flight. And she told us to choose the American Express card because it's just like cash in our hands.

She got us on the next flight out of New York back to Seattle with a layover in Detroit. Despite the mini #EarthquakeMoment I realize this was the way the #HBRMethod was making sure my whole trip was paid for!!  I left NYC with $,1000 in my pocket and I still made it home within a reasonable time to spend with my boys. Not only did that money wind up reimbursing me for my flight, spending money, transfers, and more, I actually MADE $600 on the trip! It's like I WAS PAID to go!!! (#ManifestThat!) This trip was concrete PROOF to me that the #HBRMethod is seriously amazing and works EVERY TIME, if we just have faith and step out and take the opportunities we are given. I'm so glad I did!

Hannah Bishop #HBRStory

Hannah Bishop #HBRStory

“The #HBRMethod changed and completely remodeled my life and future. In the beginning I didn’t know what to expect, and to be honest I was skeptical of the results and my commitment to follow through with homework assignments. At the time, the life I was living was not the life I wanted. My marriage was falling apart and because of the high anxiety in the house, my child was suppressing her speech.

After reading the first chapter, BOOM! Things felt different; I felt different. I still struggled with making decisions I knew were inevitable. Then a chapter regarding courage came. This hashtag will forever be imprinted in my brain! #CourageOverFear! I jumped, and what a beautiful journey unfolded. I pursued my dream of becoming a photographer and am now living that dream every day. By changing our situation, my daughter started speaking and is surrounded by nurturing family and friends. Reading this one chapter, I evolved, changed, created this new person and environment full of positivity and pure bliss. I AM HAPPY. I AM FREE!”

The #HBRMethod Works! #FutureBoard PROOF!

I made my future board on May 7th 2015. When I did this I followed #TheHustle assignment and filled my board with photos of experiences that I hoped to have in my life. I broke it down into the five categories. This way I could clearly see what I was wanting and would know what areas I needed to work on. I have to admit when I created this board as much as I wanted these things to happen, a part of me still didn't believe that they would. I was 33 at the time. A wife and mother of three from a small coastal town in Oregon. A person who hadn't had the opportunity to travel much, who didn't have the time to enjoy the friendships in her life and who honestly didn't have the extra money to go make it all happen. I put my #FutureBoard up in my room and looked at it daily, I told myself, "you deserve these experiences" and as time went on I started to believe my words. I daily applied the 8 steps of the #HBRMethod as I went through #HBRBootcamp.

Eight months later, on January 7th 2016 at 6 am. I was boarding a flight to NYC with one of my best friends for a long weekend filled with #ManifestThat moments and checking off #BucketList items! I have always wanted to go to New York and this trip was a dream come true and financially possible thanks to the #HBRMethod of #MoneyAintAthing!

On my #FutureBoard I had a picture of Live with Kelly and Michael - I have watched this show since it was Regis and Kathy Lee. (Mind you, I  put this board up in April, months before there was even talk about a NYC trip). I had tried to get tickets for Friday Jan 8th for over a month and they were sold out. At 5:00 am that Thursday in the airport I decided to check one last time, and there they were 2 open tickets!! (#RelentlessPursuit)

I also had a picture on my board, of girls toasting drinks and laughing. I am proud to say I had many moments like this over the weekend. I met amazing women, reconnected with ones I had known, and ultimately learned the meaning of #ChangeYourCrew!

(Sarah's note: when Kristen first started #HBRBootcamp, on of the first things she told me is, "I really don't have much of a crew. I don't have a lot girlfriends in my life, I'm a mom!" So making the time to connect and build friendships was very important to her. In NYC I  watched, a once shy Kristen, bubble over with enthusiem, joy and pure love for the #HBRFamily she'd connected with the past few months. Nearly twenty women from across the country made the trip to NYC, and let's just say Kristen has an amazing group of girlfriends for life now!)

I never could figure out why I put a chandelier on my future board. I just love them and felt that if I was places with chandeliers I would be living experiences I could only dream of. Well, chandeliers seemed to be at every location I was during my trip. I had always wanted to see the Statue of Liberty so of course she made the board and as I took a selfie in front of her I got chills all over my body knowing I was having yet another #ManifestThat moment.

I am so thankful for Sarah Centrella and #HustleBelieveReceive. Because of the #HBRMethod I have learned how to dream again, and have been able to apply what I learned in the book to my life. I am starting to live the life I have always wanted and manifesting opportunities I never thought possible! I can't wait for what the future holds and to continue to add pictures to my real life board.

Tine Riedel's #HBRStory from Denmark

I am born in April 1981 in a small town in Denmark, Europe. Being the fire chef’s daughter, everyone knew who I was. You should think that alone made me popular, but no. I felt like an outsider, never knowing how to act, always getting to a place where I felt like everyone thought I was weird.  Feeling left out took its tole on my self-worth and most of my childhood I wandered in and out of a depressive mental state.

I've always felt a magic connection to horses and when I was about 12-13years old, my parents allowed me to get riding classes at the local riding school. Here I found out that I am good at something. Handling horses and riding. Not that I felt that I was bad at everything else, but here I excelled.

Tine Riedel #HBRStory

I grew up, getting most of my social education at the riding school and from firefighters, so I've learned to call it as it is. And that does not sit well with some people. I continued to feel like I didn't fit in, except when I worked with horses or among men, so I decided to educate myself as an electrician. It was a physically hard job and in 2004, shortly after I graduated, I hurt both my arms whilst working.

For the next year I sat in my couch, watching TV (#EarthquakeMoment). I could not do anything that involved using my arms. And that is a lot! Soon I realized that I was not able to work at an electrician again. I had built my whole life around that job, so when I lost the ability to work, I plunged into depression. Somehow I pulled myself up by the hair, trying to get my bearings and figure out what I wanted to do and – most important – WHO I was! I thought my identity was my work and when I lost that, I lost myself.  So I went back to school. I needed to do something while I figured out what to do and who I was.

In 2008 I met and moved in with the man, who became the father of my two boys. One in 2009 and the next in 2011. Both times I became depressive afterwards. I didn't have a depression, but my mood was not fantastic either. Again I pulled myself up by the hair.

In 2012 the boy’s father and I split-up and if that was not tough enough, the daycare that watched after out now 3- year old son, turned against me and reported me to social services. Luckily social services found no reason to pursue and reprimanded the daycare, but I was already going down again into a full blow depression with anxiety attacks. That was when I had had enough. I started focusing on getting to a better mental state, where I had the capacity to deal with life without getting depressed.

In 2012 I also met my future husband and he too has been a major part of me dealing with what life throws at me in a great way.

I began following Sarah on her blog Thoughts.Stories.Life and she has inspired me to take charge of my own life. In February of 2015 Sarah invited me to join her first #HBRBootcamp, but at the time I wasn’t ready to make the commitment. Then in June, Sarah again invited me to join her second one and this time I was ready, and am I glad I made that decision!

This has been an amazing ride for me. I have found these steps (the #HBRMethod) to be easy to put into everyday life.  The change started on the inside. Reading #DreamIT helped me find out what my passion is all about and helped me rekindle my love of horses.  And best of all – I've started riding again, and even got a horse FOR FREE!! (#MoneyAintAThing #ManifestThat!).  #ThinkIT changed my mindset and the way I see myself, it has moved mountains for me. This chapter is all about changing your inner voice. I have played mental tennis with my negative thought patterns to start thinking some positive instead. This journey for me, has not been about only being positive. It has been about changing my beliefs about myself to more positive ones. Only when you have a positive way of being with yourself, can you handle all the negative crap life at times throws at you. Your positive beliefs act as a shield and the #HBRMethod teaches you how to keep all the negative stuff from affecting, and discouraging you.

tine and horse

When I started applying these tools and thinking positive about myself, things started to happen. At first small stuff. And then came my job (#ManifestThat!). A paid apprenticeship at a home mainly for people with Downs Syndrome and Autism. Its thirty hours a week with a schedule that has left room for me to do all of the other stuff I want to do with my life. They even support my dream of becoming a riding therapist, and might want me to work as one during my four year contract! I plan on making myself indispensable, so they have to prolong the contract indefinitely!

This fantastic process has just begun. I can't wait to see where it takes me next!

Cassandra McKissack's #HBRStory

Cassandra McKissack #HBRstory

I was introduced to Sarah by a friend of mine who is also in the book she wrote called, Hustle.Believe.Receive. As a radio host, I'm always looking for a great story. Reginald Foreman called me and suggested I interview her.

Sarah has a great personality and it was easy to connect with her since our stories are similar. Anyway, she came on the program and blew us all out the water with her story and how she has come out on top. Yea, Sarah!

Fast forward a year later, I happen to see Sarah advertising about her #HBRBootcamp. I'm always looking for an opportunity to tighten up my game plan and here we go. I loved the boot camp.

The 8-step #HBRMethod is incredible. The biggest take away for me is this, we are more alike than not. We all need a mentor or coach to guide us. Most people are glad to know they are not alone when they are striving to do more and be more. We can help each other be better and isn't that why we are here on earth, to make things better for our fellow man? At least that's what I believe. And Sarah's book does just that...leaves you better.

One of my big #ManifestThat moments was interviewing a guest who at one time was interviewed by Oprah. Imagine that! Life is amazing. And because I have greater self confidence I will soon have my own show, 'The Life' show will be on TV on Charter and The NOW Network in 2016. That is my #BigPictureDream and Sarah taught me about how to have #RelentlessPursuit so that I will #ManifestThat!

Patricia Gonzalez #HBRStory: Graduation Dream Comes True

Patricia, a single mom, from Texas, who joined #HBRBootcamp in 2015. She applied the #HBRMethod to complete a long time dream, and manifested her moment!

This is her inspiring story...

Patricia Gonzalez #HBRStory

The scariest step is always going to be the first.  In the forty-four years of my life, I can honestly say that I have taken numerous “first steps”.  This journey stems from being an only child, living with a man before marriage, marrying him, divorcing him and then having two children (yes, all in that order!)  Another part of my journey consisted of taking college classes; but never achieving the ultimate reward called a “Bachelor’s Degree”!

I truly felt a sense of loneness, insecurities and most definitely uncertainty before I joined.  The question that was a constant tidal wave in my brain was, “How in the world will I get through this”?   Unknowingly, I never had a true vision; I was going through the motions and trying to keep a positive mindset.  There was many times I questioned myself, “Was I being a good mother by raising my kids by myself? Will I ever see graduation and get my degree?

#HBRSoundtrack: “Set Fire to the Rain” –Adele

This summer made a positive impact on my outlook on life; I was introduced to the 8-step plan that would change my life, it is called “Hustle Believe Receive” the #HBRMethod.  I suddenly realized that I have a lot of changes to make; never realizing how infectious my surroundings were.  I changed the negativity that was suffocating my dreams and created a new #HBRCrew.

#HBRSoundtrack: “Shake It Off” –Taylor Swift

I truly felt a sense of freedom and learned that I had to create a vision of what my future WILL BE! #DreamIt.  Once I set the stage of how I wanted my life to play out; I realized that I was holding myself back from my own success.  It was no one else’s issues; they were my own, so, I owned it!  Realizing it was going to take work, determination and most importantly, a positive mindset!

#HBRSoundtrack: “Work” –Iggy Azalea

I created my vision; although my vision consisted of numerous aspirations and dreams, there was one main win I wanted to achieve!  I was determined to graduate from college before my son, who is a high school senior!  He was set to graduate by summer of 2016; and I was determined to cross the stage before my son! #RelentlessPursuit

#HBRSoundtrack: “Run the World (Girls)” –Beyonce

Through the struggles, I was able to successfully focus on my dream, and remain positive that my wishes were coming true (#BelieveIT).  I had a #PinchMeMoment when my counselor shared this was going to be my last semester and then I am a graduate!!!!  That was a moment that I felt numbness, and at the same time as if I jumped out of my seat, filled with so much excitement!

#HBRSoundtrack: “Feel This Moment” –Pitbull

My ultimate moment is when I picked my cap and gown up.  #ManifestThat Officially, I graduate this winter with a Bachelor’s of Applied Science specializing in Management.   All my hard word had finally manifested!   I not only showed myself that all things are possible; but I showed my children that our dreams have no limits! Dreams are ageless and most definitely attainable; we just have to HUSTLE, BELIEVE, RECEIVE!

Thank you Sarah and my #HBRFamily for all your love, support and believing!  You all are amazing and I am forever thankful to each of you!"

-Patricia

Cherese Spand #HBRStory

Prior to the #HBRBootcamp my entire life felt stuck. My passion was to educate, nurture, and support people, giving them  hope and vision.  But my spirit was crying out to do so in a more greater and more effective way.

Cherese Spand #HBRStory

I prayed and asked for guidance then BOOM! Sarah posted she was starting the #HBRBootcamp, and it has been a phenomenal experience.

My view of my life has changed dramatically since participating. Sarah has a gift for having us draw out our visions, goals & objectives. As I wrote out mine (#WriteIT), and began to focus on what I wanted, my old belief system was slowly being eliminated (#ChangeTheVoicesInYourHead). Its like magic! Your life starts to completely transition, as thoughts and visions become clearer (#BigPictureDream). Prior to #HBRBootcamp my mind was filled with doubt and hesitation, always wondering if I was worthy and deserving of a fantastic life, in addition to a fabulous career.

Since learning the #HBRMethod, my business has transitioned tremendously. We have grown from a team of 1 to a team of 35 within months (#ManifestThat!). We are on track to change hundreds and thousands of lives. I am forever grateful to have connected with Sarah, and as a bonus I have forged new friendships with my fellow classmates as well.

The Hustle is always sold separately, but if you have the courage to Believe  you will Receive.

Palak Choudhary's #HBRStory from India

Palak participated in Sarah Centrella's life coaching #HBRBootcamp, all the way from India! She used the #HBRMethod to address health, weight and anxiety issues she'd been struggling with for years. In just a matter of weeks she began to see a dramatic improvement, and four months later is off all medication for her health issues! Read her inspiring story in her own words...

Palak Choudhary #HBRstoriess

"It’s been almost four months now that I am following the footsteps of the #HBRMethod. This method and this Sarah have totally changed my life.

I met Sarah ma'am when I was desperately needing someone to guide me and to show me the ray of hope.

I joined her #HBRbootcamp and completed the 8-step program of learning to live a happy life. In this four months I saw some major changes in my every area of life. I was suffering from health issues for the past six years, dealing with the PCOD (i.e. hormonal disease) and was overweight. This was automatically improved in just two months! This was a complete shock for my family and doctor too! I was fed up from taking medicine, so was also not on any medication, I just followed the #HBRMethod and tried to be positive and happy each and every day no matter what. It worked so fast, I have lost weight and my health issues has been fixed.

Other changes which I experienced was my relationship problem, which also got fixed. I experienced a big change in my attitude (#SayIT) and my nature, (#ThinkIT) which has helped my relationships. I was very introvert type person before, but now I am positive, happy and a brave girl. I also attracted some good people in my life through the tips taught in #HBRMethod.

I even manifested many materialistic things, which I wanted like clothes and jewelry.  Recently I celebrated my 25th birthday, I always wished to get a pair of diamond earrings on my silver jubilee, and though it sounds stupid, I applied the #HBRMethod tools and my mother gifted it to me next day of my birthday! (#ManifestThat!)

Life has changed a lot, and every day is like a happy day, sometimes with some good surprises. Though of course it’s notalways happy, as I too have to face hustles and struggles in my life. But now I got the power and tools to face them more confidently and positively, and get what I wanted in my life through these tools.

My favorite line of Sarah’s is:
"If you don’t know what you want, you'll never know when you've got it.”

So guys just learn these #HBR tools from Sarah, and become a part of our beautiful #HBRFamily with people to support you, and care for you. Lastly, I want to thank this lady for coming in my life like an angel and making it beautiful as I wanted it to be!"

Andrea Turner #HBRStroy

Andrea is an #HBRBootcamp alum from Ohio who has used the tools she learned with the #HBRMethod to begin living out her dream of being a fashion stylist, including an appearance on CBS The Talk! This is her story.

Andrea Turner #HBRStories

"I was a part of the first #HBRBootcamp and it completely changed my life, personally as well as professionally. At the time I was searching for something, but wasn’t sure what it was.  I knew I wanted to help people in some capacity, and I'd just started my personal styling business. My lifelong dream was to become a personal stylist/model working in the fashion industry.  I love helping a woman feel beautiful, confident and well put together.

After reading the first chapter of Hustle Believe Receive, (those that are close to me know that I hate reading),  I actually looked forward to the next, and the next, and the next chapters. I did not want to put it down! I remember reading a quote by Will Smith (who is by the way my crush of all time) “Being realistic is the fastest road to mediocrity. WHY would you EVER be realistic?”  That stuck in my head and helped me to dream big, dream about things that most people would think couldn’t happen. So meeting Will Smith is on my #Bucketlist! I was actually called to be an extra in a movie that Will was filming called “Concussion,” before the start of #HBRBootcamp, but I had to pass because it didn't work in my schedule. Yikes! I believe that I passed up on an opportunity or a manifest that moment because I wasn’t ready. That won’t happen again.  I learned through the #HBRMethod how to stay ready.

I remember the first question in the first chapter was “What do you want”?  I knew that I wanted to live my life and be happy and be financially secure.  But what do I really want? I had to think long and hard, more than being a personal stylist, but what did I really want my life to look like?  It took some time to discover that.

Since I completed #HBRBootcamp, I have been featured on CBS The Talk --where I got to give my opinion on a fashion question.  Because of that opportunity, women are calling/texting me out of nowhere about what to wear.  I am living my dream!  I bought the very car that was on my #FutureBoard! I'm working on plans to move to Italy. I have planned two successful fashion shows and helped women dress confidently. I worked for a week on a mission (one of my dreams).  I could go and on and on... My life is so full, and I wake up every morning ready and waiting for what is going to happen. By keeping the 8-steps engraved in my head I am seeing my dreams become real! #HBR ROCKS!"

Nicky Peet #HBRStory From FRANCE

Nicky Peet #HBRStories

Nicky Peet was one of Sarah Centrella's first international life coaching clients, and is featured in her book Hustle Believe Receive.  Nicky lives in France, and is using the #HBRMethod to change her financial situation, going from struggling single mom, to successful business owner.  This is her story...

"Where do I start? I remember falling upon Sarah’s website just before my divorce in 2010. I was pulled in by her straightforward way of talking about #FutureBoards.

My life went downhill rapidly. Post-divorce I only made a tiny wage trying to support my two children, and living in France. I struggled and struggled, but through those struggles I began to create a dream –helping others be positive and find inner happiness. But with 5000 euros in debt, my ideas seemed somehow pointless.

I followed Sarah, and began to write a gratitude diary (#ThinkIT) and change the way I thought about my dream. Then I saw on Facebook that Sarah was offering free trial coaching! This seemed like a gift from heaven! I was her first paying public coaching client, and I saw the #HBRMethod in its early stages. Sarah really helped me to drive my dream, to adapt myself to circumstances but keep going, never let go (#TheHustle).  She helped me through the hard times and really understood where I was going. My dream was to have a B&B, or home where I could run workshops on inner happiness and Reiki (#WriteIt). Later Sarah launched the #HBRBootcamp, and invited me to the very first one! This was my #FutureBoard coming to life in front of my eyes! With the boot camp my vision began to evolve, as I got back in touch with my childhood dream (#DreamIT) of art, my passion for color, and Reiki. Through the steps of the #HBRMethod my dream took on a new shape; helping others heal through art, color and Reiki. The perfect fit.  My money issues continued to plague me however, but I persevered with my mottos (#ChangeThe VoicesInYourHead) and changing my beliefs about money.

I am now running workshops from home, helping people get creative, and I’m being asked to do other workshops in other places. I am also hosting a retreat on colour and art healing next year, and am working on an online colour course, where we learn how to use colour in our lives to heal. I am also planning online workshops on creativity, local craft workshops for the French in English, and more and more people are asking for Reiki treatments.

My money issues? What money issues!!? For the fourth month running, I have money at the end of the month, I can pay my bills, even the surprise ones! No more nasty letters in the post, and I don’t fret if I want to buy something. My teaching work (my “day job” whilst my business builds) is so busy! For the first time ever, I know I will have a lot of work in January- normally a dead month. (#ManifestThat!)

Each day doesn’t seem much but when I look back and see the journey I have been on and how my life has changed since applying the #HBRMethod, there is no comparison. #HBR gets you focussed, keeps you on tracks and gets you where you want to be!"
