German Wall Street Journal
A fun mention of Lost Edens in the German version of the Wall Street Journal. All kinds of thanks to Emily Mahon for such a great cover design!

Lost Edens
Welcome to the blog!
This was a near-daily blog for just over a year and now you'll just find posts related to my first book, Lost Edens, the publication of which prompted the blog. Now that the book is out in the world and has legs of its own it's time to let the blog rest so I can move on to the next good adventure.
Thanks for reading!

Refusing September: Summer Playlist
I hear September is coming soon but I think this year I'll just ignore it for a bit. It's been an interesting summer that--so far--has included odd things like amusement parks and weekends in the woods and saying goodbye to jobs and people and versions of reality. Just life, really, but everything seems to be moving very, very quickly.
I'm headed across the Atlantic next week for a bit of an extended summer and so I thought maybe it's not too late for a short, random summer playlist. The top two have been on heavy rotation. If I play Gnarls Barkley one more time I might get complaints from the neighbors. Maybe.
1. Something Good Can Work-Two Door Cinema Club
2. Crazy-Gnarls Barkley
3. Tightrope-Walk the Moon
4. I Melt with You-Modern English
5. Everybody Talk-Neon Trees
6. My oh My-Tristan Prettyman
7. Everything Changes-Eytan and The Embassy
8. Knives-Viva Modula

Beachfront Avenue
Yo, so I continued on to A1A Beachfront Avenue. Maybe a bit north from rock man lovers, girls in less than bikinis, and gunshots ringing out like a bell. But still A1A.

Huey goes for a Boat Ride
A weekend at the other lake with the entire family. Poor Huey didn't have his shots updated in time to go to day care and be spared the drive north so along he came. He still had fun, though. His favorite part? I'd say disappearing into the woods this morning just long enough for me to start thinking about hungry bears or whatever ate Jessica Simpson's dog. I think we're both glad to be home. James, not quite there. It might be time to rethink whether flight benefits are really all that great and to tally how many times we've been stranded somewhere!

Times they are a-Changin'
Beginning in September I'm shifting to a 40-hour work week, which means no weekends editing and no nights, either. Gone are the days of working until the work is done and here come the days of stopping when I hit 8 hours each day (hooray?). Could be good. But I will miss my current office (below). Even if I was editing on a Saturday it was a really nice Saturday!
