World Con Day 1

Worldcon was a very fun experience for me this year! Here I am on day 1, waiting in the registration line. Even though I arrived just after noon on Wednesday, it took an hour for me to make it to the front of the line and there were even more people arriving behind me.
I headed straight to the dealers’ room, and was happily shopping all the tables (So Many books and authors present!) when I heard a familiar voice. Who should I see but…

the fabulous, amazing author (and terrific fri...

February Notes
It’s been a minute since I’ve been here. I’ll be blogging more often to keep folks updated, so here we go!
First bit of news: HOUSE IMMORTAL (ebook) is now re-released with a new cover! Book two and three (INFINITY BELL and CRUCIBLE ZERO) also have new covers and are up for preorder!
Good news! I’m writing a new series set in the town of Ordinary, Oregon. It’s funny, cozy fantasy with a dash of mystery. It features new characters, and of course, many of the favorites from the Ordinary Magi...

It’s here! It’s out! Wayward Devils, Book 4 in the Souls of the Road series is available in ebook and print!
AppleKoboAmazonBarnes & NobleCursed to follow Route 66 for nearly a hundred years, Brogan and Lula Gauge have made a deal with Cupid to find the spellbook of the Gods—a book powerful enough to destroy the world.

The evil goddess, Atë, has already tried to kill them once to get the book, and now Brogan and Lula...

Great Deal!

The fabulous people over at Graphic Audio have put Brute of All Evil on sale for 60% off. That means you can get this audio, fully performed like a radio play by multiple voice actors and special effects and all the other bells and whistles, for LESS THAN THE PAPERBACK PRICE.
That, my friends, is a terrific deal. Sale will end soon, so get your hands on it soon-ish!

First Sunrise of Autumn

What a beautiful start to fall! I ran outside barefoot to catch this photo this morning and didn’t feel chilled. (We have cooled from our summer temperatures, but September has been mild and on the warm side.)
The weather guessers say we’ll have a day this week somewhere near 90F (31C) and then temps drop as the rain comes in. I’m looking forward to the change of season, to the rain.
While I love summer, I crave rainy days, cloudy skies, cooler nights, and all things cozy. And with thi...

Plum Jam-bor-ee
When I was young, I remember my grandmother making some kind of delicious plum jam concoction. It had walnuts in it, maybe some other fruit (pineapple? raisins?) and wasn’t called jam. She only made it the one year, but I remember loving it.
Cue to now. We have a plum tree giving us a bumper crop this year. I really want to recreate that jam-type thing Grandma made. The problem? I have no recipe and don’t know what it was called. I’ve been looking, and found there are a lot of different “jam...

And a one, and a two…
Do Three Things make an update? They do!
ONE: WAYWARD DEVILS, book 4 in the Souls of the Road series is off to the copy editor! (sound the victory tubas!) This book has been a real nut to crack, partly because it swerved mid-writing to be a totally different book than I had planned (no two books write the same, y’all) and partly because my writing time has been much more limited lately.
But today it is out of my hands (for a couple weeks) and soon enough, I’ll dust it off, straighten its little ...

All the projects
I know it’s still summer, but I’ve got a bad case of Squirrel Brain, by which I mean; I feel like autumn is coming on fast, and winter’s right behind it and then the year’s over and I have So Many Projects to do, or to try, or to finish, and there’s only so many hours left to bury these acorns.
On the writing front, I’m almost finished with revisions on WAYWARD DEVILS, book 4 in the Souls of the Road series. I’d hope to have this done and off my plate last month (or the month before) but her...

Road Trip in a Nutshell

A couple weeks ago, we did a one-week about 3,000 mile RV road trip through Oregon, California, Nevada, and Arizona. I was looking forward to visiting Sedona for the first time, and it did not disappoint.
We took a Vortex tour, had lunch downtown, and saw so many gorgeous views. Flagstaff was a wonderful shady place to camp, and our busy day of driving Route 66 to see the Petrified Forest, Jack Rabbit Trading Post, corner in Winslow, Arizona, and Meteor Crater was great fun!
But the dr...

Road Trip – Day One

Last week, my hubby and I, along with my sister and her hubby took a road trip in our RV. This is the longest trip the RV has been on since we’ve owned it, and boy, howdy was it an adventure!!
We got a bit of a late start on Tuesday, eventually stopping for lunch at Sidelines Pizza in Kalamath Falls (with cute blue owl fire hydrants!) It was hot, and they had nice air-conditioning and good pizza. On the way, we saw 3 bald eagles–one adult and two youngsters–perched on telephone poles near...
