He wasn’t expecting a woman…

It’s safe to say Alistar Kostas wasn’t expecting a woman to show up at the Stigward New Orleans house.Too bad.I’m here and I have a job to do.I don’t care that he doesn’t like humans and I’m as human as they come. There’s a rogue witch on the loose, and it’s my job to help him and his team track her down. Amongst other things. But he can’t know why I’m really here in the Crescent City.No matter how much he snips and snaps and glowers. No matter how hot the chemistry is between us.He might consider me the enemy but I’ll just have time to prove him wrong.Read all about it in Resisting the Vampire’s Kiss.Best,Lexi

Have you read The Cajun Werewolf’s Captive?

Amanda St. James was sixteen the first time she laid eyes on Sebastian Deveraux.

He’d been every one of her hormone-driven fantasies come to life. Tall and broad-shouldered with muscles that wouldn’t quit, dark unruly hair and eyes that saw straight into her soul. At least it had felt that way to her young, inexperienced heart.

And that heart had wanted him every day for the next two years. Right up until she’d graduated high school and high-tailed it out of nowhere Louisiana.

It hadn’t been the whispers about who and what he was that had driven her away. And let’s face it, her heart hadn’t stopped wanting him even when she’d been eight states away.

She was only supposed to be in New Orleans for a few days, but one look at the possessive billionaire werewolf makes her forget all her reasons for running.

Especially when he throws her over his shoulder, growling out a single word guaranteed to send her pulse racing.

Mine.

Read it today!

Using Amazing Marvin to Organize My Author Business

Hello friends,

I’ve recently started using AmazingMarvin as my task and project manager. I’ve had several questions about how I make it work for me, what all it does, etc.

Let me start by saying one goal I had was a place to list all the things I need to do. All the things. Even things that there’s a chance I’ll never get around to doing, I wanted it on a list and out of my head.

Here, I use Amazing Marvin’s Master Tasklist as a place for that sort of info dump.

The list on the left is the same as the one in the large space to the right. The list on the right is expanded.

You’ll see different folders labeled: GB, Publishing Biz, Ecila, SB

How I use it

Each folder is obviously a section of my business or a pen name.

Beneath those folders I have sub folders. One for each series and beneath that, one for each book. Tasks related to that book go in that folder. This helps me keep things organized. If I know that I want to offer a special edition for the 15th anniversary of The Cajun Werewolf’s Captive, I make a note to do it under that book’s folder.

There’s also Inbox at the top.

Inbox is the perfect spot for that initial info dump. It’s a good place for items that don’t go on a specific list or haven’t been moved to a specific list.

Main Task List aka Today

This is the main screen I see when I log on to Marvin.

On the left is the main menu: Today, Master Task List, Calendar, Planner. (Planner is a general plan of when you’d like to do certain tasks broken down by week or month. It then pencils those tasks in gray.)

The middle column has the date. If you click on the tiny calendar icon, a monthly calendar pops up.

Below that is Today, Plan and Calendar.

The main part of the screen starts with a small inspirational quote. These are customizable. 🙂

Then, if there are tasks left over from a previous day, it’ll prompt me to move them/reassign them.

Then there are events pulled from my google calendar.

Below that are customizable buttons. This very much acts like a dashboard for my day and to my business. The teal button on the right goes to my promo manager in Airtable. So handy!

Then we have our actual tasks. You’ll notice they’re color-coded to the folders on my Master List. I can add tasks here or I can go to my master list and schedule things to do today.

If you have questions, let me know.

What I’m Reading: September 2021

My reading has been all over the place this month. Jumping from a resource book for writers to sci-fi romance and back to contemporary. But I’m enjoying myself, so here you go:

I guess I’m just in the mood to get away (far away, lol) for a while because I just ordered the hardback of this.

What I’m reading: August 2021

Looking for something to read this weekend?

I’ve got some suggestions for you.

Did someone say scandal? This was a great twist on the brother’s best friend. I don’t want to give too much away, but I’ll just say I’m enjoying the series and looking forward to the next book.

I consider this book a classic. One of my favorite Susan Mallery books and perfect if you’re looking for a quicker read.

Because when am I not in the mood for paranormal romance? Especially shifter romance. <3

If you’re into non-fiction, I’m really liking this one so far. The author has a great voice, easy to follow style, and she incorporates stories, which I’m always a fan of. If you’re on my newsletter (and if not, why on earth not?) this is the book I mentioned seeing on a random shelf in the background of an Instagrammer’s story.

A closer look at Mystic Isle

Hello friend!

I’ve been playing around on the new iPad and put together what I’m lovingly calling a fantasy map of Mystic Isle. Insert all the heart eye emojis here.

Let’s just say, I love all the peripherals that go with fiction these days. Especially romance. Always romance. Character art. Maps. T-shirts. Anything bookish. Stickers. Oh the stickers!

Anywho. Back to the map.

It’s not finished yet. I’d like more palm trees and fewer “regular” trees. This is a tropical island, after all.

I included some locations on the island that aren’t as prominent in the books but they’re clear in my head. So anyway, in case you’ve read the Mystic Isle Paranormal Resort books you might see some locations written out that you’re like “whaaaa?”

Does this look like it did in your head? Drop me a comment below.
