It’s pretty amazing how far we’ve come with technology, and I’m blown away by how real it all looks. It’s amazing to see my characters brought to life. So cool!

Emotional Honesty in Romance Writing
“Why did the romance novel character break up with their partner after being emotionally honest?”
“Because they couldn’t handle the truth of their feelings… or the truth that they were actually in a completely different novel altogether!”
As an author, one of the most essential aspects of writing a romance novel is creating characters that are emotionally honest with each other. Emotional honesty is the foundation of any solid romantic relationship; without it, a connection is bound to fail.
What exactly is emotional honesty? Emotional honesty is being open and truthful with your partner about your feelings and emotions. It means expressing your true thoughts, desires, and fears without fear of judgment or rejection.
In a romantic relationship, emotional honesty is crucial because it creates trust and intimacy between two people. When partners are emotionally honest with each other, they can build a deeper connection and understand each other more profoundly. It also helps partners feel more comfortable and secure in their relationship, knowing they can be open and honest with each other.
The consequences of not being emotionally honest in a romantic relationship can be devastating. When partners are not honest with each other, they can become distant and disconnected, leading to a breakdown in communication and, ultimately, the relationship.
