The Girl.
The Gardener.
The Reader.

A story of hope in the midst of despair.
Thoughts of death in the midst of life.
A story of reality in the midst of fiction.

For fourteen years, The Girl has been shuffled from one foster home to another, hoping for a forever family that never happens. But her newest home has something none of the others have had: a friend, an older man she calls The Gardener, with whom she occasionally sneaks out for some late-night snacks and other harmless escapades. Their latest excursion, however, delivers much more than a white chocolate mocha and an order of chili cheese fries; what they discover at the house of a recently deceased neighbor sends the duo on a life-changing journey.

Christmas Reflections

If I could have a magical Christmas gift, I'd wish for one more Christmas Eve at my grandparents' house – as a child. The hustle and bustle of Christmas, the chaos and stress of the holidays…they meant nothing to an eight-year-old boy. And though my grandparents might have experienced a little “stress” with over fifty people in their home, the kids had a blast. We even sang Christmas carols without too much coaxing by my uncle, who always filmed the gatherings with an old super 8mm silent camera. (I’d gladly exchange several of my adult Christmas gifts for a copy of some of those movies.) And then, to top off the evening…Santa stopped by!

The holidays are still special, but something was permanently lost the moment I looked at the photos of Christmas past – and instead of seeing dear old Santa making a personal delivery before the kids went to bed, I recognized an older cousin wearing a costume that stayed tucked away in my grandfather’s closet except for one night a year.

Moose says ...

description

Moose says he wants to give my eBooks away FREE for the rest of December, and maybe even into the New Year. It’s probably just because he wants everyone to read about Moose Park, which is mentioned in “Has Anyone Seen My Brain?” … but how could anyone resist that face?

Boo (the one in the photo who couldn’t care less) is simply thrilled that he is NOT a dog.

So with the vote totals: 1 “For” and 1 “Present” – the motion carries.

All YOU have to do is let me know which book(s) and what version (mobi or epub) you would like. Email or private message me either your, or your kindle’s, email address – and I’ll be happy to send you the files.

Note: My email address is dmc@dannimak.com – or you can contact me from my website at http://dannimak.com/

Thanks, and have a great day … Dan
