In a tiny store in St-Remy-de-Provence I found a beautiful Provencal quilt covered with cherries . . . but it was *enormous*, I couldn't figure out how I could possibly keep travelling with it, so I didn't buy it.

That's the difference between me and my central character - I didn't, but she did.

I still think about the cherry quilt, how beautiful it was. I've never found another one like it.(less)
