It was just a random Facebook post...
I'm so excited to share Breakout with you. This book holds a special place in my heart for multiple reasons. In late 2011,I convinced my husband to get married in Gretna Green, Scotland, home of the runaway weddings featured in the Regency romances I loved so much. I planned it perfectly. Ceremony in the original marriage room at the Blacksmith’s Shop, and a three-week honeymoon through Europe. Funny things happen when you think you’ve planned things perfectly…they’re never perfect. In early Ma...

It takes a village to write a blurb...
I'm not going to say that writing a book is easy. In fact, it can be painful...characters that refuse to listen to you, plots that you swore were going somewhere, commas...oh, the commas. But nothing is harder than writing the blurb. Sure, I can come up with 80,000 to 100,000 words to tell a story, but asking me to cut that down to a 200 word summary? Forget it! I'd rather hide in a corner with some cookies. Why can't I just tell my readers, go buy it, you'll love it? Trust me.But Last Call w...

Busy week...wrote The End and got a puppy...
Yes, it's been awhile, but I've been in the writing cave...and we got a puppy! This week I made a lofty goal...finish the first draft of Last Call, the next book in my Love by the Bay series. Normally it wouldn't have been a lofty goal, but we also got a puppy last weekend!I've never had a dog before and I clearly didn't think it through. I figured lots of people get puppies and they survived. Well, hats off to them, because puppies are like babies on crack! It's a good thing she's cute. Pleas...

But it's such a pretty nook...
We moved into our new house last month and we have huge closets in the bedrooms, so I was determined to fit all my clothes in one and turn the other into a writing cave/reading nook. Don't ask to see pics of the other closet...it's a bit full! So I picked the color I wanted...Romantic Poetry...totally fitting for a romance writer. I scoured the Earth for the perfect chair, small desk, and lighting. I made my own art with Canva...don't ask...it's an obsession that I have no desire to cure. And...

Why am I the only one in a Christmas shirt?
Yes it's August. Yes it's like 90+ degrees out. But this week was all about Christmas. Okay, not really. But we did take our niece and nephew to Santa's Village in NH.I LOVE themed shirts...today's shirt says "I'm a writer, I do not tolerate reality," so of course, I wore a Christmas shirt to Santa's Village. That should be a requirement, right? I know it's a theme park filled with stressed out parents and screaming kids, but someone else had to be having fun with the theme, aside from the pe...

Italian moms are the best.
Did you love Rose Lanzi in Unmatched? Well she's back, meddling in Lily's love life and pushing everyone to eat more carbs!I love my Italian mother in law...not that she's Rose, but there are definitely some similarities. I'll never forget my first Christmas Eve with my husband's family. After feasting on more seafood than you could imagine at his grandmother's house...I stuck to pasta because I'm not a seafood fan, which makes Christmas Eve the only holiday where I lose weight at the dinner...
