poetry

Haven't really written too much poetry in the past few years. Been concentrating on improving my prose. But I do have at least a hundred or so new poems and someday I will put them out.

Romance?

In my novels I sidestep romance like it was a puddle of cat puke on the carpet.I don't believe that human beings enmeshed in the sort of desperate situations I toss them into would have time for lovey dovey.

Michael Crichton, I am not

Writing mad scientist dialogue for "Rise of Chupacabras" and I am finding it incredibly difficult to write from an educated, intelligent person's point of view. Michael Crichton I am not. My understanding of science is laughably primitive.

The Face of Mental Illness

CrimethInc dumped me because I sent them a series of alarming and abusive emails in 2008 during one of my periodic episodes of craziness and I am sure they figured, "Who needs this?"
The crazy man bites the hand that feeds him and I am forced to live with the result. You know it is bad when not even anarchists want to deal with your shit.

Necro Publications

It is official. I signed my contracts yesterday and Necro Publications will be releasing "Siege of Station 19" in February. This will be my first published novel. I am stoked to be breaking out of the poetry ghetto. Big shout out to David G.Barnett of Necro for taking a chance on me.

Dennis Reece, My 6th grd Teacher

I had an excellent teacher when I was in the sixth grade, Dennis Reece. He looked just like Steve Landesburg. I still recall very vividly the books he read out loud to us as a class. "Tuck Everlasting" was a favorite, but my all-time fave was "The White Mountains." It had a huge effect on me, firing my imagination in all the best ways.

It has been quite a while since I was an eleven yr old, but I think very often of Mr Reece and the impact he had upon me as a child.

Thanks to all

I would like to thank all of you who've taken the time to post a review here on Goodreads of anything I've written. An indie author like me gets only word of mouth for publicity, and so these reviews are very valuable. I thank each and every one of you. Cheers, Raegan Butcher
