Cindee Snider Re is wife of 28 years to the man she loves most in this world, mama of five world-shaking creatives, ages 18-27, author, photographer, craver of quiet, lover of cotton, denim, Jesus and tea, and she is co-founder of Chronic Joy®.

Cindee and four of her five kids have Ehlers-Danlos and myriad co-existing conditions, yet in spite of these diagnoses, or maybe because of them, she has learned that the deeper the valley, the greater her capacity for joy, "because it's there - in every hard, beautiful, precious moment."

Purpose in a life with chronic illness might look different than our current cultural norms, but it's a necessary paradigm shift. I tell my 21-year old medically disabled son, wise beyond his years and a little too smart for his own good, that every day he gets out of bed, every day he rises to face one more day is a victory. We need to learn to be present in the moments of our lives, to celebrate the good, however small and seemingly insignificant, because it matters. Every single life has purpose. I am writing the cry of my heart for my son, for my daughters, for every person facing a life they didn't expect and wouldn't have chosen. (less)
Cindee Snider Re My goal is to have the book in a feedback/review group in early January with final edits ready for publication in Spring, 2017.

“Surrender is an incredibly difficult topic in light of chronic illness, because loss is often continued and sustained.”
Cindee Snider Re, Finding Purpose: Rediscovering Meaning in a Life with Chronic Illness

“We can feel isolated and powerless when living with chronic illness, but what if your story begins to bridge the barrier or open a way for someone to connect? What if your story offers a glimmer of hope to someone standing at the edge of desolation? ...What if your story starts the conversation?”
Cindee Snider Re, Discovering Hope: Beginning the Journey Toward Hope in Chronic Illness

“Chronic illness is hard. Pain is hard. Isolation is hard. The financial cost is hard. Grieving is hard and necessary and sometimes takes far longer than we ever imagined.”
Cindee Snider Re, Discovering Hope: Beginning the Journey Toward Hope in Chronic Illness

“Sharing our stories is a vital part of doing life together. The disciples shared their stories and changed the world, not because they were extraordinary men, but because they told about an extraordinary God.”
Cindee Snider Re, Discovering Hope: Beginning the Journey Toward Hope in Chronic Illness

“...our stories are who we are, where we begin. They connect us, tearing down walls and shattering isolation. For story is where hope begins.”
Cindee Snider Re

Cindee Snider Re, Discovering Hope: Beginning the Journey Toward Hope in Chronic Illness

“And that afternoon, as the sun slanted low through the changing autumn leaves, I remembered to savor the moment, soak in the beauty, breathe deeply and feel the immensity of God.”
Cindee Snider Re, Discovering Hope: Beginning the Journey Toward Hope in Chronic Illness

“Being asked to help can sometimes be as difficult as asking for , because it can feel awkward, uncomfortable, aggravating and inconvenient. Yet we are called to open the door to inconvenience.”
