Why I wrote the book on belief in God
Hi Friends
After a struggle of nearly 4 years, my book Do Not Believe in God Till You Experience Him got published. This is a very difficult topic for me and yet one of the closest to my heart.
The whole humanity can be divided into believers and non believers. The quest doesn't stop there. If you believe in; which God do you believe in? Christian, Muslim. Hindu, Buddhist, Jew, Zoroastrian.... The list goes on. You believe in only one God or all of them? Or do you believe hat all religions preach about only one almighty? Do you have any proof of existence of God? Is your proof universally verifiable and acceptable?
Does it cross your mind sometimes that may be God is just a placebo concept implanted in the minds of humanity to enforce a certain kind of God abiding behavior which is conducive of a sustainable society. Without the concept of good karma; God fear; it would have needed far more legislation and policing to curb the human selfish instincts?
Perhaps it would have needed far more psychologists to deal with hopeless and depressed people. The very idea of someone observing you from above and compassionate towards you gives a lots of strength in difficult times.
What should you do in such situation? Should you suppress your curiosity towards God existence? Should you take someone's word for it and blindly follow? If you chose to verify the existence of God independently and in the process conclude that the God doesn't exist; would it be a sin?
