Hello all my peeps and pups.
We made it to the end of March. Endured the lion and cuddled the lamb. While in the trenches it felt like a crawl but now it seems to have just flashed by. Isn't that how time works?
We had some big news at the farm this week. Emu egg number 9 managed to safely hatch on Friday. We're still struggling with finding the right name for the cute little bugger. I think I'll open it up to my readers for some suggestions. Hello all my peeps and pups.
The saying "March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb" has been crossing my mind lately. I'm not sure what the weather may be like where you are, but here it's been a bit like a roller coaster. Maybe the lion and lamb both went drinking together and this is them, staggering their way home. No matter. Either tornado high winds, 75 degrees and gorgeous, or a smidge more snow, whatever comes, comes.
Funny thing about the weather. At least it makes my hubby laugh at me. Since my books take place in an altered reality, I actually check weather history and try to reflect it accurately in my books about werewolves and demons. Go ahead and chuckle.
On the writer side of things, this week I invested a bit in a marketing course. Learned some good nuggets and churned out some things to use so it was probably a good value. But the part I did flinch a bit about was the time I had to commit to it. I've got a few personal deadlines that are pushing me into crunch time. And those two days will be tough to catch up on. Wish me luck.
I did have an idea a few weeks back about trying to make my weekly news a little more connected. With that in mine, I'm going to start sharing a portion of them on Facebook. And I will continue to try and load them to the blog when I get a chance to.

Hello all my peeps and pups.
Happy St. Patrick's Day! I've always loved the cultural celebration side of the holiday. On the fictional side, I've always felt that my stories had a strong link to Ireland. One of favorite clans of Valàfrn werewolves (The Eagle Clan) was from Ireland before they fled to Wales and then immigrated to the Americas. You can read about their travels in The Longest Journey.
We've been facing a little technical difficulties here with computers and wifi issues. But the weather has kept things interesting. From beautiful days that encouraged playing outside to one day with wild storms and tornado sightings. With all the unpredictable spring weather I've been doing as much outside spring cleaning as I can. I expect it will continue for as long as the warm sunny days persist.

Hello all my peeps and pups.
Wow, yesterday was one heck of a great day. I went into it feeling fairly anxious about trying to do too much. It was the first of the monthly farm swap meet of the year. And I had some juvenile turkeys that have been eating their weight in feed weekly. They needed new homes and couldn't miss out on the chance to meet their new owners. But of course I was also invited to a craft and vendor event in the nearby mall. How could I make it work? Simple -- pack everything in the van, go to the swap from 8 am until noon and then head to the craft fair from noon until 5 pm.
Somehow it all worked out. Sold out at the swap early. All the bratty turkey babies found wonderful new homes. And met some wonderful new readers at the mall. Tammy, the book lover! And Norman, it was fun talking about local authors. Chatting with readers is always so much fun.
Hopefully I'll get to meet more of you at upcoming events. I can't wait.

Hello all my peeps and pups.
The weather has been improving a bit here in Western PA. It gets me excited about all the upcoming farm projects. With the birds, ponds and garden, it's bound to be wonderfully busy. Oh, and this will be year four with the orchard too. We might get our first harvest.
Here it is the third of March and I'm already thinking about harvest.
Writing is coming along after a short bumpy patch. I was hoping to be finishing the Amethyst Unveiled edits around now but I'm still in the drafting stage. My characters decided to be a bit naughty which led to a delay. But the good news is their naughtiness will likely lead to a couple short side stories which I will share with you all first.

This month I will be featuring the three novellas in the ACACIA trilogy. Read more about them below. I was all prepared to share how they were an outlier in my book universe because they are currently my only futuristic sci-fi stories. But then I realized that isn't true. I also have Forever Eden and a few more outlined for future projects. I guess my book universe covers everything from my Origin stories set in mythic pre-history all the way to ACACIA set 1000 years from now. Though most are set in modern and recent historic times.
Shifter Romance
My werewolf stories tend to be action based male/female committed love stories. They will often involve strong family bonds and show characters overcoming painful pasts in order to find love.
Vampires and Demons
My demon and vampire stories tend to be spicy and sexy, full of passion and danger. These could be male/female, male/male, or and variety of pairings that the characters enjoy.
Sweet Paranormal
Yes, I do write some sweet stories too. These are often short stories and can showcase a more innocent kind of romance that will usually still result in a sweeter kind of passion.

Hello all my peeps.
We had a glimpse of hope (spring) and then back into the fray (of winter). Yep, its still winter here in Western PA. Just like that dang groundhog (and the calendar) said it would be. So it's back to carrying water and breaking ice and shoveling snow. Still hubby has the maple buckets set up so I'm looking forward to pancakes with homemade syrup in a month or so.
The writing is coming along nicely but I've been struggling with an old bad habit. I keep getting distracted by other stories that I'd love to chase after for a while. Some of you longtime reader peeps might remember my early days when I would start several different series and not focus on what at a time. Yep, those were some lovely joyful dark days. For four years I've been good. So don't get worried just because I'm yearning for the good ol' days of naughty ADHD writing.

Hello all my peeps.
I had a nice week chilling with my family. Chilling with the continuing low temps and a little birthday celebration on Saturday. For me it was kind of a biggie. I've been circling the sun for half a century. I'm still adjusting to that concept. To keep it all in perspective one of my co-workers last week said that I have the sense of humor of a twelve year old boy. Not sure what that means for the next fifty. ONly time will tell.
So for all those out there surprised by the passing years. Hang in there. I get you. The mantra to live by will be... Act as old as you want to be. And... Life can't be measured until I clearly identify a midlife crisis. Until then I might still be immortal. (regardless of what my back says.)
Not much new on the farm except for some out of season eggs. One of my pea hens and a couple of the young turkeys started laying. Otherwise everyone is doing well. Just waiting for spring.
Writing and edits are all progressing well. This week is focusing on the Division Eight stories. Zeven is free and Deven and Quinn are both on sale for 99c each. Season of Giving is officially over. I gave away a little more than 3000 books. Hope you all took advantage. If you did, I hope you take a moment to rate and review. That's a big part of motivation that drives my writing mojo.

It's time to confess. I have an ADHD type personality. I love to bounce around between stories and always have. For that, I do apologize. That bad habit resulted in me writing dozens of story lines all out of order.
I'm a reader too, and I know how hard it can be on a reader who is waiting for a story fix. After nearly 20 years I finally have a grasp on the reins of my runaway plot pony. Heck yeah! I admit it. I read BoyLove stories and watch BoyLove Anime. I am still not exactly sure why I like it so much, but I have considered a couple possibilities. 1. BL comes with it's own list of conflicts that get in the way of the HEA. 2. My boys are often more straightforward and willing to jump into love. 3. When I think of visuals, I'd rather watch guys than girls. Though, I recently discovered that if the story is good, I can enjoy watching (sweet) Girl-Love anime. No plans yet to write any.
Whatever the reason, I ended up writing m/m erotic paranormal romance, and am proud of my stories. I just love my boys. Some start off gay or bi, with or without experience and others fall in love first, then learn how to enjoy the physical side. The way I think about it, there is no wrong way to fall in love. The important part is complete acceptance and learning how to truly cherish that special someone.
